The topic of discussion is NOTA choice should be given or not. NOTA means None Of the Above. It is given to voters to show discontent in voters about their candidates. Yes, it does not have the power to change the result or to declare reelection in the state but with these people who found no one eligible for their vote would come and vote so it would increase the voting number. Also, if the number of real voters increases then fake voting also decreases it will also force the political parties to reconsider their candidates if NOTA is exercised more in an area. So it is a way for ensuring better candidates. Also, NOTA is the better option than earlier practices in which if you would choose none of above then your identity will not be safe which is against rules of our election. And no doubt if NOTA is the winner than the party would never install the same candidate again. So I think even if NOTA is weak but still a solution to our some problems.

Nowadays, we all face a real problem, to whom should we vote. Basically, we don't have any candidate who fulfils our expectation to be a genuine candidate than we have this NOTA option to show our protest to the election commission.
It's a way of complaint we can register with the election commission.
It will create data that can be used election commission to make some possible reform.
As if the candidates were not qualified to contest the election and we voted for them in favour or against or not at all, it shows that we don't have any problem with them.
And nothing will change. But on the other hand, if we use NOTA then it will create a protest against those candidates, and election commission has to do something to deal with the situation like create some threshold for contesting in an election like.
1. NO criminal background.
2. Education Qualification as Graduate.
3. Participation in Q&A session before the election, so that people can ask their questions on the Agenda proposed by him.
It will also reduce the moral of political parties which contest in the election on the basis of Money.
So in that way at the time of re-election, good candidates would not spend a lot of money on campaigning and that would reduce the corruption in future.
And educated candidates will work in the development of the concern constituencies.

NOTA will be completely a wrong choice provided to the voters.
If people started using such options then the members will be elected by their party members only. Such elected member will be not agreed by the locality there.

According to me, NOTA is the must but its need some changes. One of the good things of NOTA is, its can avoid fake votes, those who absent. But the main drawback is if the NOTA gets 99 percent votes and if any candidate gets just 1% votes, he will become a winner. This needs to be changed. If NOTA votes are higher than any candidates, re-election needs to be done and the previous candidates should not be allowed to stand. Then only NOTA will become powerful and it can bring a positive change.

NOTA's presence may bring indifference in our democratic country. Because a democracy means people choose their government who can run the state. If none of the leaders are chosen so who will administrate the state?
People of the nation must be indifferent towards their duties if the NOTA is given. I think NOTA may no longer work if citizens are educated and non-corrupted as well.

Hi, everyone.
I have a point to discuss with you that why voters should be provided with NOTA.
Friends if we look on our constitution it does not ask any qualification education from politicians which is a major drawback of our constitution. Anybody who is above the age of 30, a citizen of India and having no criminal records can stand in elections whether he is qualified or not. According to constitution Public need from the government is a common agenda which everyone should know but if see the condition of our nation it is impossible to believe on any politician and can say that he is corrupted or not. We elect only those politicians who are less corrupted not to those who are corruption free because they are not there. So if we provide NOTA to them it will become easy for voters to take right decisions.

NOTA is a very good concept derived by some activist. None of the above is definitely going to play a very important role in future politics. People can choose and at the same time, they can opt for none. This is the real power of democracy. India which is a democratic country but some politician is ruling the nation because we have to choose somebody. Now with NOTA, we can discard and demand some new faces and can select them.
Leaders are made by their work, by their ability, by their efforts and intention to work for people, but in India, leaders are decided by party tickets. With the help of NOTA, these all things can be controlled.

If NOTA will be applied and then NOTA wins the election and then they start re-election then In the re-election they should choose by checking people's qualifications & the backgrounds to vote. So that the election will be successful. If they don't want to reelect the third time.

I don't think NOTA is a viable solution at this stage of Indian development.
1. Even an ordinary election requires a huge lot of effort, time and load some of the capital to campaign, manage and run the electoral process effectively. NOTA might result in null and void results putting all the resources in vain.
2. The main AIM of NOTA is approval of best candidature. Every community wants to be represented by the best themselves. A fair part of Indian society would never be unanimous about the approval of the 'perfect' candidate. Hence, NOTA will result in unfavourable results, most of the time.
3. The outcomes of NOTA will create the governance issue. In case of cancelled elections, the problems caused in the interim will be quite debatable at times.
4. The re-election due to NOTA will not always guarantee maximum participation of the common man. They are expected to decrease with re-election for every turn.
5. Instead of implementing NOTA strategy per say, bars should be put on the candidature selection process by adopting fair practices like minimum educational qualification, clean judicial record etc. To ensure the best candidate to come up in the elections.
Implementing NOTA right now is a non-feasible solution for the betterment of Indian Politics for now. Other alternate ways need to be suggested.

Hello, everyone!
We can definitely have NOTA only if the government should eliminate those who have contested already in the election for the re-conduction of an election when NOTA has more votes than any other parties. Because rather than looking for correct routes it's wiser if we eliminate the wrong routes that we have.
Thank you.
