It absolutely infuriates me that myself and others, including pregnant women and innocent children, have to suffer the ill effects of second-hand smoke when out in public. I work in a very congested city centre, it is very rare for me to make it to and from work without having to breathe in someone's cigarette smoke. I find my daily commute turns into a game of dodge the smoker. Sometimes I find myself on a narrow pedestrian walkway with 2 or 3 smokers in front of me, how do I get around that?

I take great pride in my health. I might as well be a smoker myself. They should ban smoking altogether. Allowed only in the home, or maybe a large green house can be constructed in every city where 100s of smokers can all go together and speed up their inevitable demise. I think health organizations need to reach out to smokers more to help them quit for good.

Maybe smokers are just part of a mass depopulation plan. After all, they're slowly killing everyone around them, in public and in their own homes. Maybe it will always be this way. I believe people that smoke have broken souls, they need therapy, forget to stop smoking. Anyway, what a waste of my time writing all of this, nothing will change anyway. BUT ONE CAN DREAM OF A BETTER WORLD.

Anyone who claims to get pleasure or claims that smoking is enjoyable I believe are afraid to face a future without them. This is what an addiction does it creates a dependence which we feel will make life terrible once removed and creates a false security. We all seen or experienced the anguish expressed and how hard it was to wean the bottle and security blanket away. We were born to breathe fresh air and eat and drink to survive, we were not born to inhale toxins by choice and if we had the choice, no peer pressures or stimulants or ads to entice just plain choice all over again we would not voluntarily walk into the world of coughs and cancers and COPD and throwing away looks and money to enslave ourselves to a slow death, giving up is hard but once over the giving up lets be honest there is no going back unless not fully recovered from the addiction. I was a former smoker and would never go back and would never want to go through quitting again, once quit stays quit only person or fault for going back is you.

Hello friends,

I think smoking should not be banned completely because it is the major part of the revenue of our country. But besides from this smoking is very hazardous to our health. The government should have to make rules against the use of cigarette, but it should not be banned suddenly because it is the pleasure for smokers. If govt banned this then there may be possibility that people can go attracted towards the drugs like cocaine and heroin. It is more harmful than the cigarette.

The government should have to create awareness among the people and in movies, the use of cigarette should be prohibited because the teenagers get affected by this.

Thank you.

In my point of view, I totally agree with smoking be banned completely but not sudden, slowly do this process because if any case government will ban the smoking suddenly some chances of addicted to drugs. Drugs are so dangerous than cigarette so band the smoking slowly.

According to my opinion, smoking shouldn't be completely banned because more than half of the earning from it, in the way of tax and other side effects our health and culture also. We should take steps to remove it then the only problem will be solved.

Hello friends,

I think smoking should not band at all. The government does not have any personal rights. So how ever wants to quit it they can and coming up in passive and active smoking. See overall UAE such as malls and public places we have special rooms or cabins only over there we UAE citizens are allowed to smoking as so the other people who don't smoke will not get any disease due to the smoking person.

Hello friends,

In my view, there should a ban on smoking as it is harmful not only to the person consuming it but also to passive smokers (indirect smokers). The main reason behind not putting a ban is that the government gets revenue from the sale of cigarettes. Irrespective of showing in advertisements the long lasting effect of smoking, people still use it as a source of refreshment. But I think smoking cannot be completely banned as the real effort should come from public by quitting it. The government has made efforts to increase the rate of tax on tobacco, cigarettes to discourage the usage. Complete ban is not possible as levying restrictions may result in people resorting to drugs, which is again a headache for government as even students are addicts.

So in conclusion, the real effort should be from the part of public to get rigid of this cancer causing smoke.

Thank you.

Yes, it should be banned, and there must not be any issues of violation of rights of freedom of an individual since constitution provides rights of freedom keeping in view that the freedom should not harm other's freedom or proves deadly to them.
