"52 seconds" never had made people so judgmental, I am completely shocked to see that most so called patriotic people here thinks playing national anthem at cinema halls is completely bad idea; even they have many intellectual reasons too, hats off to them.
Now, when I have ever been to cinema halls I have seen about 98% of people standing and even half of them citing it too with proper respect and love, so that 2% doesn't comes under unpatriotic people, and even that 98% doesn't proves to be a patriotic one, but, the thing is; why we are so much worried for standing up for 52 seconds and showing respect, yeah. Yeah, one don't need to show respect like this but still Why NOT, what is so horrifying and dreadful if it is played, it is our National anthem brother. You can never rationalize your love to mother nation. It is by heart and whenever we are asked to we should do whatever in the name of our mother nation.
Now, when it was played at schools it was also not compulsory (same arguments can be raised for that also) then too but we did daily and that only infused us with the unconditional love for our nation and yes, Tell me friends after school how much you have listened it or stand for it, very rare so, if you are getting an opportunity to stand for it or even just sit and listen with people all around you makes us feel united, makes us feel connected, makes us feel together.
The gooze bombs and butterflies which I always felt while standing for national anthem is unexplainable and I will always whenever, wherever it will be played and I know my fellow brothers and sisters will do the same.

Namaskar to all Indians who consider playing national anthem in cinema hall is not the right way of showing respect to our Mother India.
As per some of beloved Indians patriotism cannot be forced and as per them playing national anthem in hall is like forcing people to show respect unwillingly to mother India, so my first question to these people is,
We Indians are independent today, can walk freely, talk freely and live life, so whats wrong in showing the respect our land where we stand.
Yea, cinema hall is source of entertainment, but if we start the fun standing for our nation, one should feel pride.
Talking about those who think patriotism is in heart, that's for every Indian, but few things we do because its adds to our confidence of being Indian like playing National anthem.
If one can stand in queue for getting tickets of movie, then whats wrong to stand for our Country. One must have seen while the National Anthem is played, it always shows the group of armies who dedicate their whole life protecting National Flag, so I find no inconvenience in showing honor for our National Flag.
There are many things which we dislike, or which are not required still we do it as they are required for living.
We should feel happy that today we got National Anthem only because we are independent, if suppose we wouldn't have been independent, there wouldn't be cinema hall, no source of entertainment and above all no :freedom of Speech".
So at the end I would say "One should feel pride in being independent and show respect to National Anthem" even in cinema halls.
Thanks.

With my point of view it should not be played because we should do everything in required time its not to do formality for that. Actually theaters are the place for enjoying movies not for showing patriotism. Though if it is played also then also some people sit and enjoy movie but don't respect for that some people eat there food while national anthem is played very few of them stand and give respect to that so no need for playing it.
And we should leave this decision on people only we must show the value of national anthem to the people towards our nation.
Thank you friends.

Hello everyone.
In my opinion playing National anthem is a good initiative by GOV of India, since almost every family goes to watch movie and when national anthem is playing kids also become aware of our sense of pride and they have a eagerness for asking question about it.
One thing I want to ask everybody is that how many times in a year you sing our national anthem, so playing it is a good initiative for developing patriotism in people.
Also no matter where and what conditions it is played it is our fundamental duty to respect it.

YES. Our National Anthem reflects our culture. It is the pride of our country. Playing National Anthem in cinema halls is a great step towards evoking a sense of respect and responsibility for the country in the minds of the citizens.
It connects them to their country. It is necessary sometimes to remind the people of their responsibility towards the country and also towards others. National Anthem has so many meanings linked to it, the main being that 'we all are one. ' Everybody is equal in this country irrespective of their caste or creed & the nation should 'rise forever'.

Patriotism comes out of love and respect for one's nation and cannot be force-fed to anyone just by making them stand up while the national anthem plays and the national flag is in view. Cinemas aren't the right place to show patriotism. Cinemas are a place for entertainment and playing national anthem before some adult (18+) movies totally disrespects it.
National anthems are to be played at formal occasions. Patriotism can also be displayed by loving one's country with open eyes and not only by playing the national anthem at cinemas.
I do respect my national anthem and I'm proud to be an Indian.

According to me, the national anthem should be played in cinema halls as it an important means of showing respect to our patriotism not only singing but honouring it is also important it shows how patriotic we our to our motherland and when the national anthem is been sung the small kids notice and follow everyone by standing and honouring the flag they understand the importance of our national flag.

I think national anthem should not be played in cinema halls because by forcing someone to stand doesn't prove that he is patriotic. Everyone loves their country but they have their own way to give respect to their motherland. You can't force anyone and it doesn't make any sense.

Listening to the National Anthem of one's own country is something that fills the mind with an immense pride. I indeed feel that National Anthem should be played not only in cinema halls but also in other ceremonies of national importance.
One may feel that merely standing for two minutes does not portray patriotism, but if one cannot spare out even two minutes for his country in his joyous time (which Mother India has showered on him), how can it be ever expected that such a person will even care about his country when she needs him the most!
Doing such small things can do big wonders. I admit that in this busy life schedule it is difficult to take care of others and serve our country, but such minute actions will really give us a feeling of satisfaction and pride.

No, national anthem should not be played in cinema halls as the place is for entertainment. We can show patriotism every queue here else. And everyone loves their motherland and everyone respects it. And there can be more than 1 country then you cannot play the only onever national anthem. That will show that you do not respect out nation.
