In my opinion,
The National anthem should not be made mandatory in the cinema hall. Because national anthem is our salute to motherhood, it makes us to remember those freedom fighters who fought and sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country.
On one side we are paying tribute to fighters like Rani Lakshmi Bhai. On the other side we are displaying many other Rani's being brutally raped and subject to domestic violence's and abuses. Is this what we meant for?
Though govt made this to inculcate patriotism in people's mind I believe that only that done with a true heart will become fruitful and forcing will not give the desired results.

Firstly, I feel there is no need of playing national anthem in cinema halls because cinema is meant for entertainment purpose only. No need to exhibit our patriotism there. If at all our leaders think it's required it should be played in colleges, work places Moreover, government places like Parliament and state assemblies. I personally witnessed an old couple facing a problem with this. They are patriotic but due to their physical challenges, they were 50-50 to stand or not. If one really wants to increase or exhibit his respect towards country he should pay more taxes and try to provide free education and health care like Germany.
Thank you.
Thank you.

It's really funny knowing that why some people don't support playing national anthem in cinema halls.
See it totally doesn't matter how people respond to anthem call in cinema halls. I think it is just a reminder for every INDIAN sitting over their about who we are, from where we belong to ? and our duties and responsibilities towards our nation. Some people said that they don't like watching our anthem get insulted, I say it is not what you like or what you don't, instead it is your responsibility to make those people aware of our nation. The Fact is people don't take these responsibilities and then complains that we people don't have unity.

Many people are answering saying 2 minutes of national anthem wouldn't harm. True. But the discussion is not that. I am sure no one has a trouble standing up for a few minutes but it's baseless to play national anthem in a movie hall. National anthem being played at international sports meets, national holidays or schools or the other places, is fine. How come singing the national anthem before a movie instill patriotism in someone? We all get engrossed in the movie, go out and forget about it. This is not how we can show our nationalism. There are other nationalist things that we can do as an individual to feel proud and love for our country.

Hello,
I think the NATIONAL ANTHEM is the pride of our country and as well as the pride of those people who are genuinely respected to our motherland or our India. But if we are talking about the anthem be played in cinema hall so I think a cinema hall is a place where everyone who are coming to spend some time to enjoy a life with our friends and families. And cinema hall are also not a right place to show our feelings for our country. And the main and biggest thing is we are not forced to someone to stand in front of the TIRANGA and give the respect from the anthem.
So, the NATIONAL ANTHEM should not be played in cinema halls.
Thank you.

Certainly, Why Not? Everyone with a little patriotism will say, ''Yes we should respect it''. If someone is reluctant to do so he/she is that much less feels about his nation.
If SC orders so, what is the problem? it is just a matter of maximum one minute. India is my country, Jana Gana Mana is my national anthem and in an occasion, it is singing, I am expected to respect it. Court also said that, if it is singing in the movie, no need to show respect. That it is not an occasion for respecting moreover, that might feel like mocking at it.
My friends, even now, I don't understand, why some people make it such an issue to discuss so much?

First of all, let me tell you that National Anthem is not supposed to be played in Cinema Halls. It,s our pride and we are forcing the people to stand there when National Anthem is playing.
Actually, most of the people (i mean not all the people) who are careless of their future and who are caused to a violation of peace in society and who are not respects elders they only go to cinema halls and at that time they may have cigarette or pan in their hands/ mouth.
And we are expecting patriotism by them.
Wah India wah how foolish idea it was.
My Conclusion was I'm fully opposed to National Anthem to play in the cinema halls.
Thank you.

Yes, national anthem should be played in cinema halls and all public places like cricket stadium. Panchayat Bhawan, schools, college, govt office because it binds in the colour of patriot.
Think, why our great hero Bhagat Singh, Azad and their team sacrifice their life. Only for the freedom of nation not for their own benefits. National anthem makes us proud. We all should respect it. It is a lesson for our future generations. Think something for the unity of the nation. To stand for 52 seconds in cinema hall will not need to paid extra money or stamina. No one will lose their energy. National anthem gives us a sense of patriot, unity.

Hi, guys.
As we all know we go to cinema hall either with our friends or either with our family basically for refreshment or entertainment. But before start the movie if we stand with our family or friends for giving love, respect and feel pride. It's small duration appx 20 sec if we have to stand in cinema hall before our entertainment I appreciate the decision of govt and honourable supreme court.
The people who do not stand for 20 sec for their nation must be punished by making some rules or law over it.
It's a matter of our nation respect and it should be followed for every citizen of the country.
Country first rests later.

No, it should not because some people remain seated while playing the national which is a matter of great disrespect to the nation. Moreover, people come to the theatre with their family or friends to have fun. The theatre is a source of entertainment so you can't expect people to get patriotic wherever we like. Certain things are meant for a certain place and we have days where we need to show our love for our country. Mgovt should advertise national movements like Swach Barat Abhiyan so people would be aware of the national movements would participate in it rather than playing national anthem in theatre making the mass irritated.
