Hello all!

I do agree with so many participants who support that India shouldn't adopt one child policy because that might slow down the number of youth population over a certain period and ultimately might lead to the result which china is already facing!

However, I would like to add another perspective to this! for example with rising inflation, and everything becoming expensive for so many parents to raise their child in a balanced env, for them one child or even no child policy might work best! (At least a child won't have to suffer for basic needs)

So the point I want to state is that the one child policy is good for those who could afford the living cost expenses to raise a child. So instead of arguing over whether one child is good or not, we should focus and find out solutions to generate more employmment and econ growth because this is proportional!

I think it's urgently required for India to adopt a one-child policy. Instead of trying to make babies, people should first try making friends with their neighbors otherwise there will inevitably be an impending war for space and resources in the future. If we want to ensure peace in the future there needs to be population control and I repeat. It's URGENT!

India is a subcontinent. A country with the largest population in the world, even greater than China. This impacts every sector of our developing country and even if we look properly we can see this huge population is related to almost 90 per cent of problems in this country. So if the question is about the one-child policy, I must say India should have this policy, but after taking some measures to maintain the sex ratio. In many regions of India, the girl child is not accepted properly even in this 21st century so if India is going to have this policy, many awareness campaigns regarding this policy, its importance in present days and as well as the importance of girl child, should be conducted all over the country. So in the end, I must say if India is going to have a child policy, after making proper grounds for it, it must be beneficial for India's 90 per cent problems.

Yes, I agree with the point that our population has tremendously increased. But, I don't think so that imposing 1 child policy can be a good solution to this problem.

Hello everyone.

I am Shifali, and today's discussion topic is " Should India have a one-child policy or not". I think this question arises because of the overpopulation in India, and due to this problem, India is facing so many problems like unemployment, health care issues and many more. Population could be the reason for unemployment in India because for any government exam for that 1 seat, there is around 13 people who are competiting with each other, so you can think of implementing this policy in India. But on the other hand, as we see in China their 50% of the population is old, they do not work and China is facing so many problems, but they have good technology and innovation, so it wouldn't affect their country's growth. But in India, we don't have that much technology or innovation because our nation is currently in its developing stage, it is not a developed nation, and we need young minds to work, to think and for that we need children who will build our futures. That's why I think this policy should not be implemented in India. That's it.

India is facing a high population problem. One child poliy don't not work in India beacuse so many reasons are there;

1. Child marriage problem.
2. Uneducated people.
3. Ruler area people.
4. Religious beliefs.
5. Failure of family planning.
6. No proper guidance.
7. People believe a child is an income source.

These are the reasons for not implementing the 9ne child policy in India. The government needs to solve the ten problems to achieve good development in India.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity.

Hello everyone.

My name is Harshit.

In my opinion India should not adopt a child policy because it increases the killing of girl children. Still, we also want to reduce the problems due to the High population, so we need to educate people that they are born with 2 children.

In my opinion, India should not impose a compulsory one-child policy. Decisions about having children should remain a personal choice, as individuals understand their financial position, responsibilities, and ability to raise children properly. Nowadays, people are more aware of family planning. Many choose to marry only after becoming financially stable and plan children only after settling in life. Because of this awareness, serious problems related to uncontrolled population are already reducing.

The government does not have the right to force people who are capable and prepared to raise children responsibly. Instead of strict laws, awareness should be created by encouraging small families, such as promoting the idea that two children are enough. Having only one child may sometimes lead to overprotection and excessive attention, which can affect the child’s independence. On the other hand, having two children helps parents balance care and affection, and children benefit from sibling support emotionally and socially.

This view is also based on personal experience, which shows that having two children can be beneficial not only for the children’s development but also for the family’s long-term support system. Therefore, awareness and education are better solutions than enforcing a one-child policy in India.

Hello Everyone,

My opinion about this topic is that, nowadays the population of India is increasing day by day. So, to control the population of India. We have to follow the Indian policy to control the population.

It will help us to make India perfect and stay stable in Economics. Why am I saying that fewer children or less population helps India's economic growth? Because if you have less child at most two then you have to provide.

Best education, best clothes, and best food.

If you do not agree with my opinion, that's ok, everyone has different thoughts.

Thank you.

Hello friends.

My opinion about the one child policy is, this should not be implemented because India is culturally very diverse and having strong belief towards their religion, which can intensify the resentment of people for the govt, as we are aware about the case of forceful sterilization in 1976.

Yes, the govt should satisfactory used the preventive method to make the people aware about family planning, education, and contraceptives.
