For disaster management I believe that engineers can help in various ways, be it a civil engineer who can analyse the bridges, dams load and overflows in floods or any water disaster, be it an electrical or electronics engineer who can check the power supply management in the disastrous situation who can check if the messages or notices are reaching through every affected city, also mechanical engineers can contribute as they can design innovative machines or jet, boats that can be used in a critical situation.

According to me, engineers play the main role in disaster management. In nowadays, people use smartphones, laptops, pc or other things and these things make human life easy and These things are made by engineers so I think engineers are detecting disaster management.

In my opinion, firstly, we have to know who an engineer is? I think engineers are normally like us as individuals but their skills are what they acquire and learn in their journey to create an engineer from a normal person. I think an engineer's journey is already has so many situations they deal with in their journey, so I think they are preparing her/hisself for handle this kind of situation in earlier. Engineers are those people who know technical and innovative ideas very well. The disaster can be caused by natural and also human beings. By inventing many technical products engineers can reduce disaster.

Well as everyone said in this discussion, engineers play a great role not only in today's society but since many years. Having a great safe sleep under the fan or AC in a completely protected room could have not been possible without engineers. There could have been no developed communication facilities without an IT or Computer engineer, there won't be any transportation without an Automobile engineer, without an electronic and mechanical engineer having a comfortable sleep will be a dream.
