Hello everyone.

Today the topic given to us is the role of engineers in disaster management.

The role of engineers in disaster management is very important because technology is increasing day by day nowadays we are able to look before the disaster happen in a particular area and the measure should be taken before the disaster and natural disaster. After the disaster happen there are a lot of losses happen in an area like the falling of buildings rods pillars pools etc the engineers give the best solution to do it.

As quote say, 'Nation development is in engineers hand'. Yes, this is true, in today's world engineers are beneficial to grow socially, to live a lavish life, to make the web close. Without engineer, we are not able to stay. Irrigation system- the supply of water, agriculture field, canals, barrage, weir are constructed and designed by Engineer, so the useful water reaches to us. Vehicles by mechanical engineer assembled so that we are able to travel. Various apps made by computer engineer in wide use and just in one click we can do our work easy.

Engineering is not a specific field. It is an individual world. Where we can improve and implement our Idea. Engineering gives a contribution to developing the modern world every time.

In disaster management engineering plays the main role. We can reduce the effect of the disaster by using the latest technology. Even we can give the solution to disaster as engineer.

For example: At the time of the earthquake, we can do prediction before the earthquake about it. By using the latest technology. It happens due to the only engineering field. Engineering having history 2500 centuries back.

Hello, friends good morning.

According to my point of view, the engineer plays a very vast role in disaster management. In ancient times we are not aware of the thing like an earthquake, storm but now the present scenario we are having vast thinking about these disasters. Engineer makes us aware of that or which will happen in the future. So by knowing this we buddy are able to save the life of mankind. And second thing is that we can't challenge to nature. If there is something gone mishappening then our engineer makes them all good the same as previous. I think the engineer gave us a new world in which we can live a luxury life. The engineer made human work very easy in every field. So, at last, I wanna say that engineer is doing a brilliant job in every field apart from disaster management.

Hello, everyone. Today's topic delves into a critical aspect of disaster management: the role of engineers. Engineers play a pivotal role in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from various types of disasters. Engineers contribute their technical expertise to assess vulnerabilities in infrastructure, design resilient structures, and develop systems that can withstand natural and man-made disasters.

Their role starts even before a disaster occurs. Engineers participate in risk assessment and mitigation planning, identifying potential hazards and proposing measures to reduce their impact. And when a disaster strikes, engineers are essential in the immediate response phase. They help assess damage to buildings, bridges, and utilities, ensuring that emergency responders can access affected areas safely. Moreover, engineers are involved in the restoration and rebuilding efforts post-disaster. They design structures and utilities that are not only functional but also incorporate lessons learned to enhance resilience.

Thank you.

Good morning everyone, I'm Rahul and today we have a wonderful topic to discuss it. And today's GD topic is the Role of Engineers in Disaster Management.

All of my batchmates already discussed many different points about this topic like who are engineers and about their role and their role in disaster management. So guys can you believe, engineers are those who can trace or predict a disaster before it happens? A geo-engineer can predict the pace and intensity of an earthquake before it occurs therefore shifting people from that area can save many lives. Underground shelters or capsules are designed for sea areas which can secure lives from floods and tsunamis. Deep borewells are also installed in different dry areas to prevent that area from drought.

By this way, engineer plays a very crucial role in disaster management.

That's all thank you.

Hello all.

This question is all about the efficiency of engineering in a different field. I am also an engineering. According to my point of view, engineers have a lot of potentials to work in every field. In a disaster management engineers have a lot of idea for it. Engineers can use his technical skill for any type of disaster like earthquake etc. In earthquake engineering used the drone technique for rescue operations and it's used the networking for informed to each other. Engineers mean to make everything simple as possible as. Thank you.

Hi Friends,

I hope you're doing well and staying safe.

I'm here with my new readings towards Engineers. Engineers design, evaluate, test, modify, install, inspect, maintain a wide product of variety and systems. Engineers apply the principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems. Their work is the link between scientific discoveries and commercial applications that meet societal and consumer needs. Many engineers develop new products.

There are now six major branches of engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Management, and Geotechnical, and literally hundreds of different subcategories of engineering under each branch.

Engineers thrive for fixing things and try to modify the existing procedure to make it faster. There are great Indian Engineers we've had seen who worked phenomenal for the growth of Indians and make every one of us proud.

Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya: He was a notable Indian engineer, scholar, statesman, and the Diwan of Mysore from 1912 to 1918.

Satish Dhawan: He is known as the father of experimental fluid dynamics research in India.

Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam(APJ Abdul Kalam): He is known as the missile man of India. He also served as 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.

E. Sreedharan: He is known as the Metro Man of India.

Raghuram Govind Rajan: He was the 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He was also the chief economist at the International Monetary Fund from 2003 to 2007.

Sundar Pichai: Pichai joined Google in 2004 and currently, he is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Google Inc.

Nagavara Ramaroa Narayana Murthy: He is an Indian IT industrialist and the co-founder of Infosys.

Verghese Kurien: He is also known as the Father of the White Revolution in India.

Satyanarayan Gangaram Pitroda: He is popularly known as the Father of India's Computer and IT Revolution as he helped Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in bringing computerization as an advisor to the PM. He was also an advisor to the PM during Dr. Manmohan Singh's tenure.

So as we see that there are great engineers who worked hard to change the social structure we live in and they helped us to live a comfortable life we living in.

In my opinion, Engineers played a very important role in Disaster management. Disaster management which is popularly known as Emergency management. It is a discipline that involves preparing, supporting and rebuilding when natural or human-made disasters occur. The aim is to reduce the harmful effects of all hazards, including disasters.

Thanks.

Yes, Engineers can be a part of disaster management.
They are inventing creative things regarding the problems in our daily lives. They invent many things that can solve problems easily. The disaster can be caused by nature and also human beings. Man-made disasters like forest fires can easily be solved by engineers by setting alerts and sending information to the fire engine. They can save lives and stop huge losses.

Standing on the existing protocol, to me the role of engineers in disaster management can never be over emphasized. Due to the fact that we are trained to have a critical thinking mindset towards designs, calibration, processes, forecasting and above all problem solvers within our society and the world at large. All geared towards ensuring the health safety and environment. Over the years engineers have contributed majorly in mitigating hazards or risk and became successful in making the world a better place to live.
