Retirement Age for Politicians

Yes the age limit should be there for the politicians so that our youth who are interested in politics get an opportunity to participate in elections and also if a good participant gets elected he could apply his ideas to eliminate the bad myths of our society.

In my point of view age is not the factor by which you can judge the ability of the candidate, we have seen many example in our daily life that a 10th std. Student invent a new technology, while lot of engineers are not capable to do a simple thing.

So, according to me the creativity of mind depends on person not their age, we need a leader for the development of our country, and he must have potential to do new thing for the nation. Doesn't matter what age of he is.

Hi everyone, in my opinion, I don't think that the age limit should be imposed on politicians because:

1. Age cannot be criterion for judging someone's working ability.

2. We need experienced people to understand and take some crucial decisions in favor of the mass.

But also we need youth to enter in the politics because:

1. India having the largest youth population (around 326 millions people in the age GRP of 10 to 24) needs more enthusiastic and energetic minds to represent them which can implement innovative ideas for better future.

2. Sometimes it happens that with the same person getting elected again n again some issues do not get resolved because of the same approach/mindset towards those problems and hence we need someone with fresh approach.

3. Old seats need to be vacated for giving chance to young aspiring minds.

But since we want both energy and experience in our system, this is what I propose: We can have age limit at the lower levels like MLA's and Ward members etc. Where people elected can be youth and they can act as the bridge to fill the gap between the mass and aged politicians at the MP level.

This way, these young people can get experience working at lower level under the supervision of these aged politicians and later on they can get promoted to that level which usually happens.

When you are in Government Job you have a retirement age. But when you are a politician you don't have any retirement age. Why?

Since the politicians are people's representative let the voters decide their career. In my opinion if they are discarded by the voters once after the age 60, they must retire from the politics.

We know the proverb in English, even all the languages. "Experience makes man perfect", it will applicable in all the field. Even the younger generations are very advance in technology but they can't take accurate decisions in all the situations,

Hence, we require both Seniors and Younger to lead the country, for e.g in a family most of the decisions are are taken by the father, to attain the goal with the co-operation of entire family (younger son, daughter etc) same applicable in politics also.

Hence, age limits are not barrier for politicians at the same time the chances are should be given to the youth like us. Guys are agree with me right?

My opinion and regarding of this topic.

We take government job they have required retirement age 58 but we take politics any retirement is not required so most of uneducated people think once became a politician we make money life long.

In India few party are ruled over the country how long they ruined the country they did not give any chance for youngsters so the youngsters did not come to the politics. That is the main reason India did not getting a successor employer.

I prefer to that the retirement must be in politics, I am a Indian, in our country most of the politicians are old citizens, they are almost 60 crossed. This people are fall down after certain age then after the fresh politicians, almost young are entered into the politics, they cannot take correct decisions, this may effect the people.

So the old politicians&old leaders are used as mentors this type of democracy makes perfect democracy & successful government.

According to me retirement is necessary to provide chance for others and to establish their new ideas but on the other side new people not have much experience to handle the whole responsibility. So new people want to take training under some experts for particular period.

We should accept the fact that experience matters in any field but there should be age limit for the politicians so that it paves way for young people who are aspiring to serve the country.

When new people are entering into politics especially the young people may implant new ideas and projects which could change the fate of present politics.
