According to me, there shouldn't be any retirement age for politicians because experienced person or leader perform better as compared to the young generation.

In my opinion, retairment age for the politicians is necessary but it should be somewhat larger than our government employees (it should be in between 65 to 70). If we don't give having the retirement age for the politicians then we might have lost some knowledge and skills of the young people. When the people will get old they are unable to move also what should they do for the country's growth. For old people, we have to spend a lot of security expenses. So retirement age for the politicians is necessary.

In my opinion, there should not any retirement age for politicians because it's not a joke to take decisions. Because it's related to state, country, and India is a place where we found different languages, religious, and cast. So one small mistake makes a huge difference or a problem for everyone and become a big mess so we want a people who have a knowledge as well as the experience to solve the problems related to the nations.

According to me, there should be retirement for politician to do this firstly people should have an idea about the leader whom they are casting votes.

1) What are the educational qualifications of the leader?

2) What are thoughts and new ideas he has.

3) Is he was corrupted or not.

4) Is he was capable of solving the problems etc.

So the people goes on like this definitely, we can choose a better leader.

Yes, there should be retirement age for politicians as there is a retirement age for government employees and public sector employees, there should be retirement age for politicians also. Employees are retired on the basis of their age because they are not so physically fit and doesn't have good stamina as compare to youngsters. So for better and efficient work at offices retirement is given to the employees who are aged and youngsters are given chances. So, in the same way, politicians also need retirement and youngsters should be given chances for ruling country for its betterment with better ideas but of course that candidate should be qualified and experienced for that position.

Yes, there should be retirement age for politicians but for certain years like 70 to 75 but they should rule more than government employees and private employees and we have to find the new technologies so better to give chances for the youth some of the politicians also corrupted.

I think age should not be the criteria for the politicians rather it should be their efficiency and competitiveness and we should not forget it's we people who are electing them to lead us so at the time of electing our representatives we should make our decision purely on the basis of their performance on field. And we know India is very large country and have very important role in international affairs as well so we need the people with experience to lead the country and make better decisions for the betterment of the nation and at the same time we should also encourage the participation of youth in the politics.

I don't feel that there is a need to introduce a cap on the retirement age for politicians, because-

1. Politicians are public servants and as long as the public wants them to serve and is happy with their working, why they should retire? Besides this, if the public is unsatisfied with their working, then public has the power to remove them from power in the next elections.

2. Politicians who are serving good service to the nation and who haven't been involved in corruption in past are a great asset to the country.

3. Public may lose hope in the party or lose credibility in the party if the politician in which they believe or have faith will no longer be there in the party. For e.g, most of the people today are backing BJP in elections, only because of Mr. Modi.

4. The experience which a senior politician have cannot be simply replaced by someone who is new to politics.

5. Politicians may also help to maintain diplomatic relations, who may have an impact if they retire.

6. People have a sentiment of hope and believe attached to a politician, and their retirement may cause anger and chaos in the public. For e.g, take the example of late CM Jayalalitha, people of TN praises her and admire her. Imagine the reaction of the public if she was made to retire before her death!

So, I think there is no need to set a retirement age for politicians, people have ultimate power in democracy and it is them, who decides who can or cannot serve the nation.

Thanks!

Hello, friends.

I too think that there should be the retirement age in the field of politics also, as there is in every other service. I am not telling that after a certain age is crossed do not contact them but they can become mentors for the young leaders by guiding them with their wisdom and experience.
