My contention is that MBA is not highly over-rated, its just that if you do your MBA from a good institute like top 20s, it surely has a lot of value, and if you do that no matter what, nobody can stop you from getting a good job. Because I have seen people suffer, who haven't done their MBA from a very good institute, as they are not able to maintain consistency in their jobs. You will find 1000s of institutes in the country but there are only a handful who have value.

I think that the future of a person depends only if he selects his course according to his wish. MBA graduates will have very good job offers in India in the coming years as India is going to be a big business location. The central government has shown the green flag for the implementation of foreign investment in India. Really in the coming years the life of Indians would be on the hand of great MNC's. MNC's will decide: what indians should eat, wear and how we should live. So there will be many job offers for MBA graduates. Even the MBA graduates can start their own companies if they don't get any job.

I think in India there is a great opportunities for MBA students but it is only failure when a person have low level knowledge about the practical work of the industries. So it is important to gain maximum knowledge of the market.

MBA is definitely over-rated in India. India being a developing economy, with huge market potential and career opportunities booming, there is definitely high demand for MBA graduates. My personal opinion is that MBA is not for everybody. One needs to be passionate about their career and should have the required ability. MBA has become the order of life.

Swamiji once said that "the difference between an average man and a great man lies in the degree of concentration". First of all you've got to believe in yourself that yes! you can do. The depth of water actually causes the variation of waves in the river. The greater the depth the smaller the waves. The future prospect of MBA in modern India is very great, all you need to do is just to enlarge the depth inside you and see success will kiss your feet at every step. Never LOSE hope my friend.

Ya MBA is over rated in India many of student do MBA after completion of their degree, because their are many industries in India, student choose MBA because you get two things from here 1) popularity, that mean you get chance to meet new peoples, 2) money, so here all categories of student wants to do MBA, like arts students, commerce student, science student, and also B-Tech student, no one should not want to what do it mean, only they want to achieve a good certificate, but according to me those do MBA in top institutes in india, then they get a good job in a top company, one thing is first needed as MBA is a business course so that present knowledge is must required as per the situation, you should understand the customers.

India is going to one of the top industrial country in near future so it is not required to go people abroad, MBA-mean master in business application so always keep your mind in that things, then you should understood the value of MBA.

Yes I really think that MBA's are overrated in India as in today's scenario we can see that field of MBA is attracting most of the youth irrespective of their capabilities to perform like an MBA. This may be due to the reason that this course offers opportunities to meet different people and secondly most important that it offers high packages. We see MBA's not only from commerce background but from science, arts too.

They don't know the real role of MBA. India being a developing economy, with huge market potential and career opportunities booming, there is definitely high demand for MBA graduates, but MBA is not for everybody. Moreover adding to it if someone wants to do job in Indian economy, he should prefer MBA from top 20 institutes in India or from Abroad as most of the business tycoons like Anil Ambani, Rattan Tata, and our prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, all got their studies from abroad.

These private small Indian institutes are all money minded. They don't try to polish your abilities, your talents, moreover they don't have any good infrastructure. All they want is to fill their pockets and run their institutes. In my opinion we need both management education and also the practical things for business, because we get the knowledge from both as these need for great success in business. At the end note, I want to say that a person should know that MBA means Master of Business Administration and should work accordingly.

Yes I am completely agree with that statement that MBA is highly overrated in India and it has a reason too. As we see in India the unemployment is increasing rapidly and people think that by doing MBA they got the job easily. As we see that MBA's are not only from commerce stream but also from science and arts too.

So they are just following the crowd without even knowing the mean of MBA.

So yes MBA is highly overrated inn India.
