In my view, the Gangayan or Mars mission is totally justified as it’s played a significant role in boosting the confidence of ISRO scientists and in encouraging various young and innovative people to think in different ways. It also shows that INDIA can do it and INDIA can do anything.

In my opinion, Mars mission is one of the most successful missions in the field of space exploration for India. Missions like these help to get a better understanding of our position and standing in terms of the whole universe. Not only this, it helps us to do certain research and discoveries which are for the betterment of us humans only.

It has inspired many young minds to go in the field of space exploration. It has also displayed the capabilities and intelligence of the Indian scientists to the rest of the world.

Hello Everyone,

The GD topic is about Mars Mission for India is justified ?

From my point of view, it is justified and also India needs to focus on overall development as India will be represented on the global stage for successfully launching Chanrayan-3 and it is a great achievement as India is still a developing country and makes use of its available resources and expert scientist in ISRO it has completed but India is still a developing country it should focus on proper budget allocation to reduce poverty, unemployment increases the building of schools, hospitals etc.

According to me, India’s Mars Mission is definitely justified.

First, it shows our scientific and technological progress, proving that India can achieve complex space missions at a very low cost.
And it gives global recognition to ISRO and places India among the top space-faring nations.
The technologies developed for space missions later contributed to advancements in communication, weather forecasting, disaster management, and even national security. And, it inspires millions of students and creates high-skill research and engineering jobs.
Finally, Mars exploration is a long-term investment. It helps us understand climate, the possibilities for planetary life, and future resources.
So overall, the Mars Mission is a smart and visionary step for India.

Mars Mission for India Justified?

A Mars mission is a space exploration project which aimed at studying the planet Mars. India entered into the list of countries that successfully reached the Mars through Mars Orbiter Mission also known as Mangalyaan, launched by Indian Space Organisation in 2013 and successfully inserted into Mars Orbit in 2014.

The debate is whether a developing like India should spend money on Mars mission when it still faces the challenges such as poverty, unemployment, healthcare and education.

India's Mars Mission (Mangalyaan)
Launched on 5th November 2013.
Reached Mars Orbit on 24 September 2014.
India became the first country in the world to reach Mars on its first attempt.
India became the fourth space agency to successfully reach Mars after the United States, Russia and Europe.

The mission cost about 450 crore (approximately US$74 million at the time)
The mission operated far longer than its planned life and provided valuable scientific data.

Global Context:
Space technology contributes to the communication, weather forecasting, navigation, disaster management and national security.
Investment in space research often lead to technological innovations that benefit society.

Argument is Favour (Yes, Mars mission is Justified).

1. Scientific Advancement:

Space missions helps the scientist understand the Mars and the universe better.

Benefits:
Research on the planetary systems.
Understanding the climate and atmosphere.
Development of new scientific knowledge.

Impact:
Encourages the innovation and scientific knowledge.

2. Technology Development.
A Mars mission requires advance technology.

Technology developed:

Satellite systems.
Communication systems.
Navigation technology.
Spacecraft design.

Impact:

These technology often find application in every day life.

3. Inspiration for Youth.
The mission inspired the students to pursue the careers in science, engineering and technology.

Impact:
Encourages the innovation and strengthen the future workforce.

4. Cost effective Achievement
One of the strongest arguments is that India's Mars mission was accomplished at a comparatively low cost.

Impact:
India demonstrated that the high quality space exploration can be achieved efficiently.

5. National Pride and Global recognition
The success of the Mangalyaan brought the international recognition to India.

Impact:
Enhanced the India's reputation.
Demonstrated the engineering capabilities.
Increased the confidence in Indian scientist..

6. Economic Benefit:

Space programs create opportunities for industries and startups.
Examples:
Aerospace manufacturing.
Software development.
Research and innovation sector.

Impact:
Generates the skilled employment and economic growth.

Argument against (No, Mars Mission is not Justified).
1. Poverty and Social Challenges.
India still faces major developmental issues.

Examples:
Poverty
Malnutrition
Unemployment
Lack of quality healthcare

Argument:
Funds should be directed toward solving these problem first.

2. Risks of Mission Failure
Space missions involve uncertainty.
Impact:
Failure can result in financial losses and wasted resources.

3. High investment in research
Space missions require significant financial resources.
Impact:
The same money could be invested in education, healthcare or infrastructure.

4. Limited Immediate Benefits
Many citizens may not experience direct benefits from Mars exploration.
Argument:
Basic need should receive higher priority than space exploration.

Why Many Experts Support the Mission
Many experts argue that the choice is not between the space research and development.

Their View:
The space budget is only the small part of the national budget.
Space technology helps in agriculture, communication , weather forecasting, navigation, disaster management and national security.
Long-term scientific investment supports future development.

Impact of Space Technology on Daily Life.
Even the people who never use a spacecraft benefit from space technology through:

GPS and Navigation services.
Weather forecasting.
Disaster warning systems.
Television broadcasting.
Internet and Communication services.
Agricultural monitoring.

Possible Balanced View:
A developing nation must invest in both:
Social development (poverty, unemployment, healthcare, education).
Scientific and technological progress.
Ignoring the science can slow future growth , while ignoring social issues can harm present development.

Hi Everyone.

In my opinion, India should focus on both things at once it should not be like optional for us, to choose between them, because this mission also boosts our Economy by successfully soft lending on the moon, we open the door of exploration in space Science.

Now for budget-friendly missions, all world sees India as the only option that can provide quality and cost-effectiveness at the same time.
Poverty and unemployment problems can be tackled with a good strategy and leadership; it does not depend only on the amount of Money, it depends on how the government manage and sees all the problems.
If ignorance has a voice, then the justice System would be the primary problem that should disturb sustainability. I agree with you that yes, India is a developing Country and we will be developed soon by conquering all the problems along with moving forward.

Hi everyone.

According to my point of view, the Mars missions is the good for the Indian economy and social growth, and it also boost the sectors and also Many foreign companies invest in India, it boosts the Indian economy and creates a large number of jobs. These elements are advantageous.

The other side's disadvantages require a large amount of investment and focus only on high-level budget space research, resulting in a high level of tax percentage on the people's end.

I think india's space mission also known as Mars Mission is considered to be a boom for Indian space and research centres.

It gives opportunity and employment to all enthusiastic researchers, thereby increasing economy and growth of the nation.

However, due to more resources required for research there is huge funding required from central government side and this it impacts other sectors of the society.

Good morning everyone,

I believe India's Mars Mission is justified because it showcases our technological capability, promotes scientific research, and inspires future generations. The mission was completed at a relatively low cost and enhanced India's global standing in space exploration.

However, it is also important to ensure that investments in space technology are balanced with spending on education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation.

Therefore, the Mars Mission is both an achievement and a strategic investment for India's future.
