I won't accept that "managerial skills learnt in the classroom never match those learnt from experience". The skills learnt in the classroom are basic fundamentals and "they are the first best experience that we face". Definitely there will be a match, but on the analytical ability of the person he use to analyse the situation based on the classroom learnt skills with experience.

Of course experience speaks for itself. How can one really complete an experiment by just studying about it and not practically implementing and getting involved.

I haven't seen a person achieve zenith in his/her field without handling or rather experiencing a particular situation. Moreover No person can tackle just on the base of studying a particular theory and as such experiencing in real is needed.

Skills are not only learned in class rooms, through out our life we keep getting knowledge and skills even if we don't go to schools. Some of the biggest business people have not studied in classrooms but Remember they have studied by themselves from their surroundings. As all the people does not have this ability we should have classroom skills.

Managerial skill is something that we cannot learn by just reading book. In class room a mere lecture is given which helps us to visualize the thing and circumstances with our close eyes. But the real scenario is just different from the way we think. So in order to gain proper managerial things we should in fact try it out in the practical way. For this is the only way to groom ourselves in the right path. For eg: nowadays each and every recruiter look for experienced personal for their company, this is because they want their employees to be ready to whatsoever challenges on their own will which will add to the reputation and goodwill of their company. Hence according to me every knowledge that we have gained should have the practical implementation. For nowadays it works more then the managerial skill that we get in classrooms.

According to me the managerial skills that we learn in classroom acts as a base when performing in the real world. Nobody can play a game without knowing the rules. Thus one's you know the basics (rules) , anybody can implement the skills at the workplace and make the best use of the managerial skills learnt. Classroom teachings helps to generate a fair idea about what can be done in a particular situation regardless of, the situations are not always the same. As far as the experience is concerned it might not be wrong saying that, the experience which we get from our workplace helps us to be successful only if we implement the managerial skills we have learnt in the classroom.

Well, here we are comparing the managerial skills developed by learning in classroom and the other one gained by experience. Though theoretical background is essential but one could develop these skills only through experience by facing critical situations where one has to take correct decisions. One just cannot play the game just by knowing the rules but by implementing those rules while practicing. We also see various great businessmen who don't have MBA degree. They were not managers by birth but their experience makes them perfect in their managerial skills.

A debate that has been around for long, still continues. Class room learning Vs experiential learning. When one talks about management skills, we are dealing with hard skills and soft skills - hard skills of finance, operation marketing, human resource as well as the soft skills of leadership, team building, communication and so on. It is pivotal for any student aiming for the stars to go through the rigorous and laborious process of mastering these skills.

The platform for such learning is in a classroom. Classrooms provides an aspiring management student the opportunity to not just learn but also experience the world of management. While many of of my fellow speakers have pointed out that the experience is the best teacher, I too agree with them. However, the appropriate channelizing of that knowledge is appropriate as well as effective only in a classroom.

To bridge the classroom and industrial divide, many universities and institutions are adopting numerous programs that enable the student to embrace and get the feel of the real world. Plethora of avenues are available for a management student to apply what he/she has learnt in class in practical situations. Further, a student gets the added benefit being tutored and mentored by qualified professors who posses an ocean of wisdom. Therefore, I would like to conclude that there is nothing taking away the titanic benefits that classroom learning has to offer for a student.

"life is not a sprint, its a marathon. Train well and there is nothing thats going to stop you from reaching the finishing point".

A person can become successful not only through education. It is only the person's skill, hardwork and zeal to reach the zenith.

There is no need of studying the rules to play a game, it can be learnt by seeing others playing or playing himself one can learn which comes from experience. This is called practical experience.

One should know how to manage things practically which comes by experience.

So it is experience which make a person how to manage things practically. So managerial skills comes by experience and not when theoretically learnt.

So experience speaks for itself.

Well i totally agree to this point as Jayabaskar said that when you have to face the world you cant just speak out the stuff you have learnt in the class. There are different conditions in real life. What we learn in the classroom is the reel life but in the real life we need experience to face these challenges. And skill comes with experience.
