Is Reservation in Higher Education Only Alternative for Social Equality?

I think it will better if government or any institution keep two sets of exam one for reservation community and other community. So that there will benefit and upliftment of both community.

I think reservation should not be banned now because there are people still backward in certain communities they need education, work, clothing for their survival and to compete with this generation, but there are people (SC/ST) enjoying the government funds like wine they should be removed from the reservation.

What reservation? The government of India rules of reservation is very bad, because they are continuing 1950 to still same that's cast wise. This is only supported some political parties for vote bank. About this my opinion should give support for all backward (poor peoples anycast) class not for some castes. Please look at other cast also there also have poor peoples.

When people are kept backward by their caste, only way to uplift them is by caste only. There is no poor or rich thing in that. Large part of India is still following untouchability. Separate societies are there for low caste people. In Tamil Nadu many villages low caste people are not allowed to wear chapels. They have to drink tea in separate glass and wash their own glass even after paying for that at shop. This is the reason reservation is caste based. Regarding quality of doctor and engineer. Be clear that they only get admission by reservation. To pass Eng or medical exam they have to get same marks as general category.

A general category poor but still able to enjoy a good status in society can study without social pressure on the other hand an SC/ST who got discriminated feel stressed because of this discrimination, their families had faced it for so long that they can't come up, it takes generations to get over with this discrimination how can you expect him to give 100% to studies. A SC/ST category guy/girl got beaten because of his caste even when he/she can buy that other person can you imagine his mental situation?

I think reservation should not be there in studies as well as in jobs. Because the reservation mostly promotes to the lower educated student who can easily get the admission in good collages. And on the other side the high scorer student is standing in a queue. I think the reservation should be done such as the student who scores a high marks will get the top collages.

There are still many villages where the condition of backwards classes is still dreadful. Even, some of the people of this community still cannot get the benefits of reservation because of the ultimate poverty. It is true that good financial backwards classes people use the benefits of reservation, but still if you the see the overall scenario of community, they are still not on the merge to be said developed as the higher caste are.

So, it doesn't matter whether rich backward people use the reservation, poor backward still unable to use the benefits of reservation.

There is improvement over the years in the condition of backwards, but there is still a need for the continuation of reservation system for the betterment, to get that economic status equivalent to the upper classes.

Reservation is a hot topic today. From teacher to politicians, from students to employees, Every profession is affected by the reservation system. Now India is developing that's why it has to face many challenges. The reservation system is one of them. It is a pol necessity in India.

As we see that many cases are making attempts to be classified as backward to take the benefits of caste-based reservation. And they make riots to get the reservation.

So, I would like to say the government should put a ban on cast reservation.

Absolutely agree with all and one's opinion. Reservation should be given to those people who actually need it. Today's world is the competition world. Not a single can afford to lose a single opportunity that may be of getting "A" grade college or good job. If govt want to make India as a developed country then now this is the high time to stop the Reservation on the basis of caste. So that true talent will come out in helping, improving the condition of our nation.

'Villages are the backbone of our country' - Most of the people living in these villages are people belonging to the backward classes. So in order to attain the status of a developed country, we must concentrate on equipping these people with education and life skills - which is possible only by making reservations.
