Management is an art as well as science. Art is the processing of managing skill by a person, Whereas science is of developing principles and laws where group of activities are coordinated. Management is the art of getting things done by a group of people with the effective utilisation of available resources.

Hi, in my own opinion management can be regarded as both science and art both with more emphasis on art. Management requires personal knowledge to bridge available knowledge which science represent. Therefore a successful manager blends experience with science in order to achieve desired result.

I think that management in a broad term is both art as well as science. Nowadays technology also dominate in all field as management key so we have to familiar with new science improvements. Only art of dealing with clients and manage employees, not management. We have to take a smart way.

I think management is the combination of science and arts. Management is science, because managers make decision from a observation, statistics etc. On the other hand, management is arts, because it is relying heavily on conceptual, communication, interpersonal, and time management skill.

Hi all,
Really the theme of science is theoretical when art is practical. SO it is important to mix up science with art for management to think and learn about a basic thing before starting it practically.

Management is the combination of science and science because as a science management is the systematic body of knowledge, a principal based on experiment and as an art management has an existence of theoretical knowledge, personalised application. I hope these are enough to explain it.

Hello all. My view is that management is applicable in both situations. As an art, the manager can only supervise the employees in different capacity but as a science the manager has to practice the entire management skill by him/herself.

Yes, management is a science as it contains an organised body of knowledge consisting of principles. So therefore it is also an art because it involves application of theoretical knowledge to the problems of human resources. In fact, handling people is one of the most creative arts.
