For me, management is both science and arts.

The good management is a balance of both science and art. Science establishes general principles that guide organizations, while the art of human skill puts those principles to their best use.

Management is the combination of science and science because as a science management is the systematic body of knowledge, a principal based on experiment and as an art management has an existence of theoretical knowledge, personalised application. I hope these are enough to explain it.

Hai all,

In my opinion, management as both science and art.
Management regarded both science and art. Management is a science with a systematized body knowledge and universal application.
Management is an art it requires specific skill to be applied has the situation demands.
Management is the acquisition of knowledge and its skillful application for attainment of objectives.
Applied knowledge is more powerful and beneficial than simple knowledge.

Art is use of knowledge and skill and management is also use of knowledge and study. For example A person may be good at one situation and the same person may not succeed in different condition unless he acquire knowledge and skill for changed situation.

Science is branch of knowledge which states situation and establishes some principle and laws on basis of state of situation. These laws or rules are applicable at all circumstances like law of gravity.

Management is science because some principles in the management are determined on the basis of tests. These principles are applicable universally.

In my concern management is an art of getting things done through others. So it is both science and art because science have some knowledge of universal practicable and art have have some personal skill. So both characters shows in management.

Management is an art as well as science. Art is the processing of managing skill by a person, Whereas science is of developing principles and laws where group of activities are coordinated. Management is the art of getting things done by a group of people with the effective utilisation of available resources.

Hi,

Management is a science as in. All the managerial knowledge and practices are developed through various observations and experiments which are researched and experiment based.

But, it is an art also because management performs non programmed and non routine work using creativity and innovations. And, according to Mary Parker "Management is an art of getting things done through others".

Management is sceince because it uses sceintific processs and approach in solving everyday problem. Unlike the chemistry and physics which is being held in the laboratory, managements studies human behaviour that as a social sceince and as an arts it deals with how individual does his or her own thing in hiss or her manner he or she want is different from others.

Management is an art as well as science. The scientific nature of management became popular in the 20th century were some of the management decision called for study or further scientific experimentation. It is an art because no matter how much scientific knowledge the manager has he/she sometimes has to use intuition and experience to make a decision or lead the organization.

According to me, management is not a science it is an art. To prove this statement I would like to give two examples. In my eyes management is not a science because science requires experiments and they get the same results irrespective of situation like if you throw a ball, it will ultimately fall down because of gravitational force while in management it completely lacks because it is not sure that the management which is working best in one country might be possible of doing best in an another country.

And on the contrary, I believe management is an art because just like art requires practice and experience on a continuous basis, for example, an artist can be expert in his field by creating new paintings on a continuous basis. Similarly, art also requires practice and experience on a continuous basis through which a manager is expected to grasp all the opportunities and can exclude all the threats for efficient working in the business.
