This is the ridiculous question I have ever seen because it does not define what a soft nation is. Is it a land of soft soil instead of rocky terrain like Japan? Then, yes it's very soft.

In my opinion, softness is not a desirable quality of a country or a civilization. Hardness - meaning determination, discipline, organization, achievement, self-defense, for example - is much better. By that standard, the original Hindu India was not hard, it was soft; that's why everyone from Alexander to Clive manipulated and conquered us, and the Muslims and the Brits became our masters. That is disgraceful for a land of heroes from Rama, who destroyed an evil king despite a severe lack of resources, Hanuman, who never met an obstacle he couldn't conquer, and Krishna, who led Arjun into battle against his own people because they were corrupt, to Guru Gobind Singh who turned the tide against Mughals. India ought not to be a weak country; it ought to be strong. Indeed it is getting stronger.

Despite India's underdeveloped countryside and stuck-in-time cities, it has gone to the Moon and Mars and it has made great progress in agriculture, manufacturing, IT and services. A soft or weak country can't do all that. India is a country of hard, strong, irrepressible people, but it's run by self-centered, extremely corrupt and lazy politicians, and their sons and (sometimes) daughters. It is dynastic rule that is killing India. It's political drama that keeps Indians in India shackled, while Indians in foreign countries move so fast that they leave other foreigners - as well as the natives - behind.

In summary, India is not, and should not be a soft i.e. weak country. Its people are determined and resourceful. Its leaders to date have been selfish and corrupt, but that is now changing. It is to be hoped that India's political leadership will allow Indians to achieve their potential.

Yes of course, India is a soft nation because of his policy. Our country leader still living in 1947 type of world on the principals of Gandhi. Our country don't take any hard step because they think of others like. What UN would say, whether developed countries support us or not. So India is such a great nation.

From 1947 Pakistan haven't changed a bit but our leaders still hope of peace relation with Pakistan. India nuclear policy is. We never made nuclear attack first if anyone attacks us then we retaliate massively means we will wait for someone To hit us first.

And Pakistan nuclear policy is that we can attack anyone, anytime.

Which obviously create fear in our leader And they don't take any hard decision against Pakistan they think about their chair not.

About country.

Our soldier is murdering in the valley and our home ministry put unilateral ceasefire on the occasion of Ramzan and giving oxygen to the militant, a free-roaming type facility in the valley for one month.

At least Our country should learn something from Israel and China.

Our country is top in rape cases but we still are not able to make any strict law which could eradicate this problem.

We everyone was aware of ministers those who ask for a vote from door to door And have any criminal cases pending against them but they still get the ticket and Public vote them and they win. And later we cry on our condition related to development.

Our stupid leader is not fully responsible somewhere we also responsible for such conditions of our country and some people are saying India is a hard nation.

People are misusing of democracy living in India and support for Pakistan and no action being taken against those.

So, I would say India is the softest nation in the world no one can take his place.

So carry on India.

Hi,

As we know that we are discussing in a topic and topic is a Is India a soft Nation so we all are Indian and we knows that like our country I do not see ever in whole universe so as per this our country has something but a soft nation how can you justify this that its a soft or hard for example if our mom and dad give some extra money for our pocket money than we says that my parents are soft if they denying and decrease my pocket money then we says the are harder. So we can not justify this its soft or hard.

Most of my friends says that its not soft due to many crime is happening in daily basis so as per them criminals we are not soft but if we have 10 criminals out of 100 so what would you say about this I think as per the percentage your answer should be change. I know that crimes are going to high on daily basis for this our govt has to increase some action or rules to maintain that and make some hard rule for these criminals like dead by which no one can try to that. But as per environment, as per good people, as per culture as per heart India is best in entire universe and we can not say it is a soft nation. As a coin has two side than all the thing has two sides its depend on us how we see this. So do not complain that India is not soft just try so more softly and our govt has to take some responsibilities for the same. So I think India is following tit for that rule for others like Pak and other country if they hit us then we will hit them and this rules also required for our internal criminal by which when they doing something wrong they will think lot of times to do. If our country not a soft nation then why foreigners comes here to view real environment.

Thanks everyone form my heart.

India is soft nation, India has faced three war with Pakistan in which India had only defense itself. They not attacked on other countries, they also faces problem with china, many times Chinese army entered the border of India and tried to create disturbance, threaten Indian government by making small silly practice.

On other hand Pakistani terrorist came inside the India and often disturb the piece of India, many incident like Mumbai attack, Delhi blast, head cut of Indian army over the border, Delhi bomb blast, banaras blast etc are the example are very sufficient to explain the terror in India by Pakistani terrorist, . I think India soul is lies in non violence. They had show a lot of patience and create clean image in front of all the country over the world.

And their effort has success in gaining the trust of other country. Today many country wants shake hand with India in various field. India knows very well that calmness is the basis of growth, if we look over the Pakistan situation we find that their growth rate gradually down day by day. They are not well in education, not well in infrastructure, not well in agriculture. If India hard, they could use their weapons against Pakistan.

In case of justice, in comparison of all other countries they have very soft rules against the criminal that"s why there crime rate is very high. Rape cases are in huge amount. In society of India you find that people from each religion having helping nature.

India is place of many religion, people of many religion lives there and with coordination, all religion are at equal level. All religion keep its own importance instead of this India is unite why because principle of coordination exist among us.

Hi everyone.

I feel pleasure to discuss on this topic because I feel proud to be an Indian. According to my view India is neither a soft nation nor a hard nation. It totally depends upon the aspects that we consider a country can be judged as a soft nation or a hard nation depending on nature of people in that nation rules and regulations in that nation relationship with other nation.

When we consider the nature of people in India we can say that India is a hard nation because now a days many people are indulging in various illegal activities like sexual abusement, corruption, dowry etc which makes us to feel that people are cruel minded which in turn makes our nation hard.

When we consider the rules and regulations in our nation we can say that India is a soft nation because the culprits were not punished fastly in India like in other countries and If they are punished in one court they will go to other court which in turn increases the crime rate of our nation. This is because of soft nature.

When we consider the relationship with other countries I feel that India is a soft nation because we welcome all country people without any differences. We follow different cultures, traditions though there are many attacks on us we never try to attack any country we just defend ourselves not because we do not have enough power or army but wars cause destruction.

We follow the policy of Mahatma Gandhi our father of nation non violence not to get indulged in wars so that our country progress does not fall down.

So overall I consider India is a soft nation but it should become strong nation and enforce strong rules and regulations for the well being of the country.

In my view, INDIA is a soft nation because it's around 125 crore mixed religion peoples living in this country India is a one and only country in all around the world this much of different religions peoples living our country is always trying to be a soft nation. Due to bad politics, it becomes a hard nation if you examine certain recent incidents in JNU university, Hyderabad central university, NIT Srinagar etc besides all these university incidents most of the politics involved. Certain parties play politics mixed with some students who are worked for politicians. If such incidents again repeated the education system in India may collapse everyone has looked into this what is the reality and try to solve problems in a systematic way then only our country becomes SUPER POWER.

INDIA is becomes a strongest economy in the world recently the number of billionaires in our country has also increased like this corruption also increased due to politicians if you seriously looked this one how to cross the country with thousands of crores loan with banks even he don't bother about notices also what is doing the govt and system fist of all we have to change our system if we cannot change our system it is very hard to become and be a soft nation.

In future, we have to fight with climate change, terrorism, water wars etc. If we solve out common problems 100% we succeeded with this calamities so for this it is necessary to become a soft.

Thanks for giving a chance to participate in this discussion.

Good morning everyone.

I want to divide the topic in three context Internal issues, International issues, Social issues.

If, I consider the Internal issues, India is a multi-religion, multi-cultured, multilingual country where even you change your location from one district to another, culture and language also changes. All the people having different cultures live together happily without any issue. Yes, there are some problems in some states related to religion but it is not able to hurt our relationship permanently. So, yes India is a soft nation.

If I consider international issues, India did not start any war ever with China or Pakistan. It always try to solve these issues peacefully. After URI and PULWAMA attack, I think India change its position of softness and know how to reply back towards the harmful people. I really appreciate this.

In the case of the social aspect, India should provide special attention not only to the reserved category but also towards the general caste people. Due to the wrong reservation, many students from general category don't get a chance in top institutions. So, in this case, India is not a soft nation because if it is a soft nation then it provides special attention towards all cast.

Every coin has two sides. So, I think in internal and international issues, India is a soft nation but change their position of softness in some context but in the social aspect, it fails to prove itself as a soft nation.

No, India is not a soft nation. The criteria Indian government and constitution have to Indian students for their future is worst i.e., based on caste system. OBC, ST, SC and the poorest condition holder general. If any general student is getting good percentage in competitive exams he/she have less chance of getting select in that exam or if by luck he/she have selected then there is a chance of getting low ranked college but in contrast if any student of other castes have scored less percentage then definitely he/she is going to get a better college. You yourself think if in any person or student have started to do illegal works or became a thief [general or more talented or the student who had scored good percentage] and the student who have scored less percentage or considerable marks or the passing marks in that exam have become a police officer and have to catch that thief then at that time who will use his mind accurately the thief or the police officer.

Once one Indian asked one American that how your country is so progressive and not mine then he said because of only your country then Indian asked how then he said that the talent students from your country are used to come to my country and you keep your reserved ones.

Then say how our country can be a soft nation as it is treating good with one caste students and playing with the future of other castes students.

Is India a soft nation?

Just like a coin has two sides similar is in this question too.

If we have a look at north eastern states which have different problems and peculiarities like these areas are less accessible to people moreover the porous nature of the border enables easy cross for criminals or terrorists. In addition to these they have education problems, electricity problems and many more!we have week foreign policies and no strong rules are made against punishments to the terrorists found. So in these cases India isn't taking actions and is a soft nation.

Whereas on the other side of it India's first interplanetary mission was introduced last year. We are the first Asian nation to reach Mars orbit, and the first nation in the world to do so in its first attempt. Plus nuclear progress in India also depicts that India isn't soft nation. We all know the conclusion of a "preliminary contract to develop a power plant in Gujarat" by Westinghouse and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) was announced in a joint statement by Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh and US president Barack Obama.

So all these points and many more concludes that India can be called a soft nation and cannot. But there are few things like terrorism etc where our country shouldn't show the soft phase rather fight with it aggressively!

As per Indian's strategy to their policies and approach to the nation welfare, there is no doubt about India's softness but recent prospective are bit different. Nowadays, India is going to dominate the Asea enclave, as being the top side to curb the wentorldspred terrorism by setting accords with Israel, USA and Netherlands etc.

India's foreign strategy is also shifting towards the clear cut motion such as India's dominance over China at recent Doklam dispute.

India is always a prosperous country in terms of cultural and ethical issues and recent international yoga day is another example to protect the fact.

India is a fourth biggest country after the USA, China and UK to invest in the Defense sector having 50. 7 billion dollars per year.

India's nuclear test first in 1974 (smiling bhudha) followed by operation shakti two nuclear test in 1998 shows that India is aggressive enough.

India has world's fourth strongest military in the world along with powerful navy.

Instead of such fact India is still a balanced country and know how to tackle the challenges. Human rights, constitutional rights, social equality, the right to speech and express and liberty to foreign policy such as giving the most fevered nation title to Pakistan etc. Proves india's soft nature as well.
