Attendance should not at all be made compulsory in colleges. There are many students who are more interested in some other activities instead of coming to colleges. A student studying in college is no more a child and does not need someone to guide him/her continuously.

College going students are all grown ups. They can manage their studies on their own. Different students have different needs and desires. Not everyone wants to become a doctor and engineer. Gone are the days when people have such kind of mindset that people with no education can never be successful. Many students are doing excel in different fields such as sports, some are interested in starting their own startup, some want to make dance as their career, some want to become singer, some actor and many more. They can't become successful if they are made to attend their classes in colleges every single day. Thus concessions in attendance are what the need of an hour. Those who actually want to study and are more interested in achieving higher degrees then it is very well that they attend all classes but for those categories of students whose main aim is different for them a minimum thirty percent attendance is more than enough. Government needs to revise its policies on colleges and minimum attendance compulsory such that everyone can outshine in their area of interest which will ultimately contribute to our country's growth.

According to me, attendance in college should not be made mandatory because I think knowledge can't be gained just by having good attendance. You may be physically present in the class just for maintaining attendance and getting saved from being detained in sessional. This type of attitude is not good. Students should maintain attendance only in those lectures in which they have interest. This will increase the level of quality education in students. Apart from that as my friends are saying that having good attendance shows you are disciplined, then I must tell them that discipline cannot be taught or judged on these minor basis. A person learns discipline from the ups and downs of his/her life.

From my point of view, attendance should be compulsory in college. Because the regular classes teach us the time management, punctuality and discipline. And the main que. Is that why classes are imp. Because of my friend when the teacher or professor teaches us than most of the things we will never find on books and sometimes they share their experience which gives us a motivation. If I am talking about discipline then yes, its imp. Because after graduation, this discipline behavior will help you to grow. And get a job. And also it might be chances of growth in any company.

Yes.

In my view, attendance should be taken in the colleges, because there is no guarantee that student will do study after bunking the class if he/she is in the class then at least the student will learn few new works by just attending the lass. And also it students will become punctual and under discipline.

Yes, Of course, Compulsory attendance is needed in college so that all students would attend the college instead of wasting their fruitful time, doing gossips on unused topics and banking the college for wasteful things and if sometimes really student had some important work he could take the permission of teachers instead of bunking the college. From this students will learn the meaning of punctuality, regularity, discipline, Etc.

Attendance is not important because staffs are declare above the 75% only eligible for attending the university exams some students having 100% but know about anything of subject. Then why declare attendance is must.

In my view, attendance is not needed at all. That to be compulsory. No way. As we students like to attend the class which we believe to be informative or useful. That means teacher taught well. At this point, everyone s interested in attending the class. Whereas at the other side, we don't want to sit for the class which we fly to be bored. So it depends on teachers to maintain the attendance in the class as if the class will be interesting everyone will sit for it. The whole concludes. No compulsion should be there for attendance.

Hi, I am Sindhu.

Attendance is made compulsory so that students are strictly made to attend the classes and not bunk and wasting time. And also if there was no thing as attendance to be maintained. We could have opted correspondence courses. Why waste money to get only the eligibility for attendance?

Yes, I fully support the topic. Attendance doesn't mean physical presence only. It is all about decorum and discipline. It highlights the qualities like punctuality, sincerity and devotion. It paves the way for being a law-abiding citizen. Waiving of attendance is neither in the interest of student nor for the institute.

Many students tend to come to college, just for the sake of attendance, but not even half of them tend to listen to the lectures conducted, while some go off to sleep. So whats better, stay at home and study what ones interested in or get attendance and loaf around college.
