Is compulsory attendance really needed in college?

If the teachers in engineering colleges are good then the students would attend college happily. But since the teachers themselves are not competent enough, they don't teach well or make the subject interesting, why would a student want to attend college even. The subjects are so interesting isn't it the duty of the teacher too to make their subject interesting. It is not the fault of only the students for not attending.

Yes, Education should be the first and foremost important thing in a student's life. To achieve this thing one should attend the classes daily and a minimum percent attendance must be compulsory for all so as to ensure that a student doesn't bunk the classes. Students who don't attend the classes are either lazy to wake up early in the morning or are going to somewhere else instead of attending the classes. Laziness kills oneself. If a student concentrates in his/her classes then he/she wouldn't face any problem in understanding the concept of any subject. Moreover he can recollect very quickly when he/she is going though the notes.

I just read your all opinions and you all are correct but according to me attendance is not compulsory because students attend the lectures and practicals for sake of attendance so they will not concentrate on studies or whatever the things going on. And sometime they has to gain knowledge from outside also from site and other things if attendance compulsory then they start ignoring that one and just attend the college as a option.

And sometime they bored by attending college whole day and then they want to break from it so they wish to celebrate and enjoy the life but then there comes attendance in between them so they get disturbed and came for college for attendance.

So at somewhere it has to stop so according to me compulsion of attendance has to stop.

In my point of view, attendance is important in college it totally depends on the college teachers suppose if your college has good experience teachers then each and every lecture is important and any student doesn't watch Youtube Videos to study and utilise the time correctly place like practice the coding on computer revise the topic day by day that why attendance is important if your college has experienced teachers.

I am glad to share my opinion in this current topic.

According to me, attendance is not necessary. Because there are many students to come college only for attendance.

Besides that not for learning, and gain education At this stage they do not decide their future goals and what they want in life.

So, I think its time to gain more skills learn some practical things.

I Think attendance should not compulsory in colleges. I am not saying you don't need to come college but if you are coming college only for attendance then there is no sense for coming. As you all know that there are three types of students one who is intelligent second who is average and the third one who just want to attend college only for fun. I think the 70% attendance should be sufficient for all students who are seriously attending the classes on regular basis.

Attendance is something to make one understand the need of hour and lead him towards a well-maintained schedule which is must for a beginner but for a college student I think it act as a cage or a well practice idea of 12 years (as attendance is compulsory in school, it must b) to stop him thinking out of the box which is must create something new something which opens the doors to new arena for human race. . Because I feel that entering the college life is entering the adulthood and to experience its life free of all bounds and using his experience of 12 years of studying in breaking all limits. But with this view, I also want to say that relaxation in ATTENDANCE does not mean of getting stray from your aim.

I am Akash and yes it has to be compulsory to attend the college. This way we can be regular and consistent toward our day schedule which helps us to focus for long, learn new stuff, help us had an experience of tackling a different kind of people and always push us toward hard work. So yes it has to be compulsory attendance in college.

Yes, I agree with this statement. If there would be no attendance issue many of the students would rarely come to class or could be absent during whole semester. Due to this lazy peoples will surely spoil their life by just sleeping in their rooms. If they attend class even if the professor is not teaching well but somehow they will come to know that what to study and learn so that in the exam time they would not face any difficulties.

If I say yes, then lectures should be intersting.

So, that one can enjoy the learning process.

But if not them I think attendance should not be compulsary in colleges.

Because it will be boredom.
