I would like to start with the quote of Jawahar Lal Nehru-To be successful in life what you need is education.
Ironically today this quote proved to be right for the education business, all you need is to get one qualified teacher to attack 1000s of needy and grow the business.
After independence India has started well in the field of education with prominent examples like setting up of IITs, IISC, converting state-run colleges to NITs and many more. As time passed the moto of political parties changed to populist ideas to attract votes. Slowly India's investment in education sector reduced leading to poor performance in providing primary education to children.
There was a time when by self-study students clear the toughest exam like civil services, IIT, AIEEE, Engineering services, CAT etc but the ignorance of government in education sector lead the poor education level for students. With this scenario increasing population and job scarcity lead private players to convert education into a business.
With the ignorance of government toward education, private schools proved to provide a better quality of education and had successfully attacked students but at the cost of unregularised fee structure, soon these unregularised fees become a major source of income for the private school.
Growing competition with population helped the coaching centre to develop their roots with false promises of 100% selection and job guaranty which lured the needy.
Its after few of the government professors and politician pointed out making money intention of private institutes on the name of education and the declining standard of Indian education system, government has taken up few steps to curb this growing business of coaching center to ease the financial burden of parents, like grading system instead of % for10th class so the student doesn't get demotivated and continue with self-belief of doing better, the inclusion of school percentage in competitive exams so students focus more in school and don't move to coach centres, lowering the toughness of question paper so a student even can prepare by self-study.
But education business has developed its root to a great depth that any effort won't bear fruits up to a decade, Like after the inclusion of 12 class percentage in IIT exam, even after that I came to know about a coaching institute that has contracted a private school and now both school and the coaching institute are making money out of their ill policy.
So, yes education has become a business, which is not easy to stop at this phase of India where still after 70 years of independence we are enabled to provide primary education to children, jobs to youth and skills to graduates.

Hello everyone,
Greetings of the day!
Education is the door that goes from darkness to light!
So, after independence in our country, everyone is aware of education hence everyone wants to educate their child to compete with the world. But due to ignorance of government schools nowadays almost parents want to send their child to fancy private schools or institutions.
Some private schools and institutions offer various courses along with academics like dancing, swimming, singing, horse riding, sports, etc. Hence they take high fees from students because for providing this many of courses and good teachers, well-equipped labs they have to pay expenses.
But there are some institutes or schools which takes the high amount from students but didn't give worth return back to them. They only focus on their advertisement and an increasing number of admissions they don't pay attention to students studies, progress.
Due to such more number of students like 1000 in private institutes they didn't pay attention to individuals. So, no growth of students.
In earlier days various toughest exams like IIT, GATE, UPSC, CAT, etc are cleared by students by only doing self-study but due to private institutes, they manipulated the mentality of a society that none can clear this toughest exam without classes and all. Hence a number of students accept this and goes for classes that are of no use.
Among 3-4k students they only got 10%result and they spend very much on advertisement and all students and parents thought that by joining this class they can achieve what they want.
In government schools there are not many facilities available government is not paying much attention on these schools hence poor people can't take such highly expensive education in private schools so the gap between poor and rich in society is increasing day by day.
For nursery and LKG, UKG private institutes acquiring 30k+ fees which is very much high actually in these classes we have to only teach students about IQ increasing games and manners only.
By paying so many fees and not getting targetted goal and output suicide and depression cases are increasing in youths.
To avoid this business government need to take strict action against private institutes and also need to provide good facilities to government schools too.
By doing this poor class of society can also educate their children and there may be a somewhat decrease in the gap between poor and rich takes place.
Thanks.

Definitely education industry is a business these days. Every institution is established with a mission called profit, they focus on profits. It's okay to make profits but here is the thing, they make profits more than what they require and more than what we can pay. There are also some institutes which focus more on children's education than profits, Thankful to them. Every child has the right to education, ultimately it is government responsibility to establish sophisticated infrastructure and methods of teaching and learning in government schools. India spends 2. 4% of its total GDP for education in 2015-16, 2. 6 % in 2016-17 and 2. 7% in 2017-18 and 3% in 2019. If we compare these figures with some countries, we not even spending half of theirs.
For example.
Cuba - 12.9%.
Norway - 8%.
Denmark -7.6%.
There are also some countries that spend nearly same figures as India, for example, Singapore spends 2. 9% and is marked as one of the best education systems. We are also spending the same but where is the problem, is it in plan making or in the implementation? We need to make changes according to the present scenario of the competitive world. Every parent wants their child to have the best education, as government schools are not up to the mark to compete with the present world so there is no other way than private institutes so children are joined and they are made to pay a high fees, the most affected are middle-class men because India's majority of the population are middle-class men. The government should keep some barriers for the fee structure. Not everyone can afford a good education, not everyone can pay a high fee. Only blessed kids are having the opportunity to have a good education and large scope in higher education without bothering about fee.
There are cases where a child's dream is crushed only and only because of their parent's financial status. I feel that no child should fell low, no child should not kill their passion and dreams just only because of their financial status.
This has to be changed, and this is only possible if government focus on this. Thankfully this year there is a good news that our education system is going to be changed, 6% GDP is expected in new education policy. Lets hope for the better future to the future generations.
So that everyone get their education and no institute should make education a business.
For example.
Cuba - 12.9%.
Norway - 8%.
Denmark -7.6%.

Good morning to one & all.
Today's group discussion topic is about "Education industry is a business these days". Absolutely it is a business they were collecting more fee to pay. Even for a normal child who are just joined in a kinder garden should have to pay the fee which is equivalent to the fee paid by the students who are studying higher standards. Of course, they were collecting that much of fee by providing some comforts like AC classrooms, swimming, scatting, yoga, meditation & for higher level classes they were providing IIT foundation from sixth or seventh standards. Among them what is the use of AC rooms & IIT course foundation. In olden days children who are interested to get the education they used to go for the school & studied under the tree, why because in those days they were no classrooms as like now. Even though there are so many people who had become so talented. That's why in these days the level of education is decreasing. There is a principle that if we study well, we can get good marks if we can get good marks we can get a good job then after we can settle in our life with professional & financial comforts. But today this principle is not working for all.
Parents & their children are attracted to join in such reputed schools & colleges, it May be because of prestigious issues or financial strengths. Every parent used to tell to his/her child that if you study well you can enjoy your rest of the life with all comforts & benefits. But nowadays parents are providing all the comforts without showing the meaning of struggle. Children should have to know about their strengths & reality. Finally, I want to conclude the point, there are two reasons to become an educational industry is a business these days. Firstly parents should change their mindsets they should not force their child to study particular thing & they should give priority for best education & not for the silly aspects. The second one is the government should need to make a step forward for the best education in government schools & also try to decrease the fee for corporate schools. There should be at least 10-20% seat reservation for poor students in corporate schools.

Hello everyone,
Education has become business due to an increase in more schools and institutes which are opened. The privatization of educational institutes also helped it to become from educational institutes to a business. The standard and quality of the education decreased due to more institutes and a lack of quality teachers. Teachers started concentrating only on those who understand things by themselves and others are left alone as in this fast moving and competing world.
Nowadays educational institutions are more for making profits than to a provide quality education. They try to take fees as much as possible and hire the teachers for as less as possible. Education has not only become costly but also a hot business. The most paid are the chances for most rewarded in terms of money and power. It has become the main goal for power holders to start colleges simply because of the reason it gives high returns.
But one question in my mind is that, Why are students opting out of India's government schools, which educate the poorest and most vulnerable students until the age of 14 for free, and migrating to fee-charging private institutions in such large numbers.
According to the Unified district information system for education (U-DISE) data, the belief among parents that private schools offer better value for money and better teaching than government schools.
Another fact shows that the Govt teachers earn more salaries than a private school teacher, but don't perform as well.
Government expenditure on education, as a percentage of the GDP, has been decreasing consistently. In 2016-2017, education expenditure was 2.6% of the GDP.
A common suggestion is increasing India's spending on education. Indian central government spending on school and higher education were less than other BRICS countries. However, increased government spending on education is not enough to improve educational outcomes.
India's education policy must be thoroughly revised to put in place better accountability and monitoring mechanisms to exploit the gains of increase in fiscal outlays on education.

Yes, I competely agree that Education industry is becoming a business these days. There are so many reasons behind it. Private institutes and coaching centers are responsible to making education as business. They take extremly high fees in the name of various facilities such maintentance & infrastructue, bus, for other various events etc. There is nothing wrong, if they are providing good facilities so they can take little extra charge but they recommend parents to take copy, books and other stuff from specific shop even if schools are providing these thing. Moreover, only new books are allow so these thing are wrong. They are making money from it only. Even Nursery, LKG and UKG school fees are very high, how can poor and middle class afford it. These Private institutes has made conception that if you want to crack the exam if have to join classes. These institution focusing more in advertising, holdings and marketinfg for getting more no. Of admission rather than quality of study. Among 3k -4k students, only 10% students get result and due to this rest of students suffer from depression and anxiety. That's reason the number of suicides is very high and common in youth. Kota students are instance of this. Some Private schools provide good infrastructure. Quality of edu and facilities so they take high fees whereas government school doesn't provide this so the quality of edu. Is poor. So due to this, the gap between poor and rich are increasing, which is not good for the developing Nation. We have to improve our education sector specially government School as well as Some restrictions will have to be imposed on private schools and institutions. Government must have to bring some policy.
Which will be boost our education and nation too.
Because "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. '.

The education industry is actually a business these days, particularly in our country India. Let's talk about the schools that is working on the all-round development of every student like 360-degree parenting.e proper guidance to each and every student, assigning them mentor with whom student can discuss their issue related to academics. Organizing various events starting from workshops, many activities related to dance, song, acting, swimming, organizing camps, and many more so that a child can access to everything whatever he wants. Now the thing is every parent wants their kid to get admission in such types of school. Meanwhile, schools are taking advantage to it and increasing the fees unnecessarily in huge rates every year. In fact, if a parent is unable to pay, their child is not allowed to attend the classes. In this pandemic situation, everyone is going through ups and downs, if anyhow someone is unable to deposit their due, there should not be such type of action against them. It is affecting both the parent and student mentally. Parents think like they are not good enough to provide proper education to their kid, at the same time students think that, they are not allowed, just because they don't have money. It makes the student believe they are different from others, and money plays a very vital role in everybody's life. If someone has money then only he/she can get a proper education. They will think like hard work is nothing. These things are such a shame for our country because education is the one and the only path to development, if we will make it a business how gonna our country will develop. The school and college fees should have to be affordable so that everyone can afford them. Thank you.

Besides that, there is also the growth of coaching institutes that sustains this business. Parents have to pay hefty sums to get their children in good schools/colleges and pay again in. Coaching institutes. In such coaching institutes students may or may not fare well but it is always win-win for these institutes. In some institutes, teachers are not respected. Is important to educate students to learn a wide variety of knowledge instead of just focusing on doing exercises and papers. Moreover, a lot of tutorial centres emphasizing "High marks and Good grades" which mislead the students to have a wrong idea that "getting high marks" is essential in the process of learning and education. Worse still, even parents also encourage kids to get high marks but they ignored to inculcate the kids that acquiring new knowledge is important for their life. Parents also tend to encourage the kids to join.

Hello, friends as we all know our today's topic is 'education industry is a business these days'. In my opinion, yes education industry is a business these days because the focus of coaching centre these days are not on providing best education to there student but the focus of coaching centre are on giving ranker or advertising that toppers had taken coaching from there coaching centre. But in reality, the topper gets good marks by his own hard work and self-study. The aim of these education centre is to attract students by making them fool by giving advertisement on the newspaper that this boy had taken coaching from our coaching centre other days same boy but other coaching centre gave advertisement that this boy had taken coaching from our coaching centre. I want to give an example of Kota. Kota is known for its two things 1st stone and 2nd coaching centre. In Kota, there are hundreds of coaching centre and thousands of students who come to Kota with an ambition to become a doctor or an engineer. The economy of Kota is totally dependent on these coaching centre. The main aim of these coaching centres is to earn money and to spread their coaching centre in different areas. As we all know that every coin has two faces just like this the are some coaching centre who give free education to poor students like super 30 whose founder Anand Kumar took 30 poor and brilliant student from rural area giving them coaching and also giving every facility to study by his own pocket. Super 30 give almost 30 IITian and medical student every year.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Nowadays, the education system is changing to purchase system everyone is going to the private schools and not joining in the government schools because of their no proper discipline and no proper education sometimes.
