I have doubt on NGOs. Sealdah Ralway station is infested with CINI staff+RPF+child women welfare ministry (Combined project for children on platform). They exist. But do not see any change in unnecessary child birth on platforms. These children also exist side by side and they increase day by day. CINI and RPF staff don't actually bother anything! I don't know why they are appointed their! CINI announces in platforms to report child abuse/lost child etc. But these children are right under their nose! No need to ask for reporting! One child with down syndrome even worked for years for platform stalls, bringing water buckets. I don't see him now. Expecting (only expecting) CINI has done something good to him, but that only after I reported them on twitter. Not before that! Some NGOs in the same place, run schools for them. But they don't even bother that their pupils are addicted to drugs/ fevicol/ dendrite. Their staffs (teacher) talk slang languages among them, and in front of children.

NGO in India really works, only if they are sincere to their work. NGO plays a role like a bright light for poor people.
NGO is very helpful for the betterment of poor. Where govt. Can't reach there this NGO builds umpire to those poor people.

NGO's are private organisation for betterment of society. NGOs are working for poor people to provide them food, shelter, education, clothes and some NGOs are to help women from women harassment, some NGOs are to help people to fight against severe diseases like cancer, HIV, heart failure, liver transplant and many more dangerous diseases. They provide needy people money for their treatment, proper guidance for their treatment and proper match of heart, liver, bone marrow, blood for their treatment. So, NGOs are really helpful for poor people and needy people. For example, NGO named PRAYAAS at Amity University Rajasthan, that NGO's member goes on weekend to the village named Achronal to teach students in their school and provide them clothes to wear and also feed them with delicious food. So, NGOs in India really works for others but as we know every coin has two sides and there are many corrupted people who can work for their own vested interests in the name of NGOs and they are the one's who are spoiling the name of NGO and a good cause in society but if everyone at NGO is going to work for needy people it will really make a better India.

NGO are the non-government organization that works for the betterment of the people. As every coin has two sides, similarly there are some people who work sincerely while there are some who don't.
But there are many NGO who are working for the betterment of poor people, for orphan children, for physically handicapped people. So we can say that NGO is important for society.

We all know that we have to go cover long distance towards education on towards better healthcare system. Poor are still helpless, there are so many areas where government is still struggling to find the better solution and in this current situation, NGO is a need of an hour. NGO works for betterment fo society. They provide help for needy or we can say NGO is a boon for poor people for India.

Though most of the NGO's in India are working for the benefit of poor of India and demonstrate some field like health, education, food, providing home, safety and protection of women, animal, and senior citizen, trees etc. These all are noble causes, in today time most of people have sufficient money to purchase necessary things and well living of self and dependent members so they donate few part of their money to these NGO's. But like other professions there some negativity attach to it. Today's world is professional all have their families to feed and money's needed for these purposes also one can give his 100% to the organization only if there is no financial burden on him.

Hello all, I am glad to read each one of your comments in the thread. I agree that it doesn't matter whether an NGO is giving 100% or less but the positive point is that the NGO's are doing for the society i.e. educating, helping senior citizens, health sector, etc.
Though there are many fake NGO's who run it for their own selfish benefits but because of them, we cannot ignore the genuine NGO's who are actually doing good for the society and poor.
Bigger NGO's with known names only end up getting a donation from donors and all the funds from other sources while the mid-size NGOs struggle to get a donation.
Considering all this, we are building a platform to connect NGOs and donors together.

Yes, the NGOs do fill their pockets. Who doesn't wants to fill his pockets? I personally suppose no one is there who doesn't like luxury and there is nothing selfish in it because it's natural. But it doesn't mean that they don't work for the people. They are at least loyal enough to look forward to public interests. Even if they have selfish motives behind it rather ends up in the betterment of the society at least they don't sell themselves up like the government.

NGO's are working in INDIA very properly and with all dedication.
NGOs are doing their work with all their efforts and resources available to them.
Mother Teresa who worked for the orphan children, didn't work for the money. Nana Patekar who donated his 90% of the earning to the charity& worked for the farmers.
NGOs do the work which governments should do.
I would just say NGOs are "by the people, for the people, of the people".
NGO.
