Hi, friends. In my view, democracy is not hampering India's progress it is cause of system problem. So actually we have to need some changes in our system. Everything have some plus point then also have negative point s so we can't blame democracy only for hampering India's progress it is the cause of illiteracy, corruption, etc.

Yes, democracy is hampering progress not because of the word democracy but because some people are taking undue advantage of the name democracy, as nepotism is being into force, roads, footpaths drains cannot be maintained and all are being sold to the hackers just for the party people to make money, and causing undue trouble to the common people when they are paying tax for the maintaining their city/state.

Yes, democracy is hampering India's progress because today's education systerm has changed towards greed, therefore we have forgotten the rule of- by the people- for the people -with the people, if we survey we'll find that a minister 's family member is often chosen as minister, today votes are being purchased by criminals, law is being misused by moneyed people, poor are becoming poorer, religious people are also becoming criminals, nowadays, the priests and nuns think themselves to be LORDS, Just like the Ministers think themselves and lives a life like a KING, when people of their country are dying of poverty they are least bothered.

Democracy is a system of government in which we can choose our government A/c to our choice that didn't occur in monarchy system. Democratic got selected by the people for the people and always remain with the people.

We have the example of South Africa where democracy help in the abolition of discrimination between black and white by Nelson Mandela.

How can we say that the democracy is hampering the INDIA's progress?

Actually, the main reason behind the hampering of progress is illiteracy, poverty, gender inequalities, lack of patriotic culture etc. Here we choose our govt on the basis of caste, religion and party system. Most of the seats here are reserved for the quotas like SC, ST.

So, I think we should change our mentality and perception towards our country, our govt then only our country can progress.

The democracy is not the best way to rule a country or neither its the bad system. But in case of great nation like India and because of its large area democracy is the best way because it will creat a chain of command to the whole country. Because if there is one leadership the unity of India should come in danger.

I think democracy is the best way to prosper India.

Perhaps, I do not think that democracy is hampering the progress of our country because in Democratic government every person has right to express his or her views every common man has same power which doesn't happen in Monarchy system. So democracy should be remain but there is a need to change some of the rules which create problems.

Democracy Is over rated I have to say. Monarchies Have restrictions more control. This Setup has helped several Arabic nations in strengthening their society and economy, they are filthy rich :p. Any form of government with basic understanding of People's rights is a good form of government. In India, democracy has resulted in MPs and ministers growing rich and more corrupt. Our textbooks may say that democracy results in more sensible, accountable decisions, in India, We are so sensible and intelligent that we take years to muster up good policies and infrastructure. Above all our justice system has several loop holes in it because of The extensive rights every citizen gets in the justice system. Here ppl are being raped every day and Only half of thE A HOLES are convicted while in Several monarchies Across the world they are beaten to death. Long story short, democracy isn't heaven. Democracies are based on the rulers and the view of the citizens. For us, our time's too damn bad and So democracy is hampering our progress.
