Hi my name is Muskan.
Obviously it is very much true that cleanliness is the fundamental responsibility of an Indian citizen. All of them must kept in mind that before complaining about Indian citizens that they do not care about the cleanliness, it is you and me who have to take the initiative. Complaining is easy but implementing it its a responsibility.
It is rightly said that little drops of water, little grains of sand make a mighty ocean and a pleasant sand may be our small behaviour might change the thinking of our Indian family.
The one who has the clear knowledge about the environment also do the same. The government imposed a law of keeping Environmental studies as a subject but still they are continuing with their irregular activities.
Its our responsibility to make it happen! An individual can't make it happen. Our country has population of over 110 million. Each should participate. Its not a cricket game where an Individual can save the team but it's also a cricket when even one collapses everything is lost.

If not we who else will clean our country, already all sorts of deadly diseases had started there appointment in our country. We often use i'am an Indian, India is our pride, I've a nice little doubt, what is the use of telling its our when we don't have any care or concern about it. All these days we used our time dirtying our loving country, now lets use our precious time cleaning it so as to prove that we love it.
Its time to put our broom/hands together to make it clean. But even though we have such thoughts of making our clean it sounds silly but nobody thought of where that should be disposed, can anyone guess what I am trying to say I'm talking about the dustbin it may sound ridiculous but that is the true still we don't have proper disposal system and its shocking 2 say we don't have dustbin at all.
We should have proper guidance (Government) to guide us. We need also the help the government 2 in keeping it clean. Government should provide us facility (dustbin). Jai hind.

Hi my name is Kshitij Kulkarni,
According to me I think "Cleanliness is Next to Godliness" Actually what does this proverb mean? We know how much importance is given to godliness in our day to day life, so just after godliness, cleanliness should be given the priority. Cleanliness can be personal hygiene, environmental etc. Personal hygiene can be achieved by the effort of an individual alone, but community or environmental hygiene can only be achieved by collective effort.
Government should take strict measures to achieve this. We should make people aware of the importance of cleanliness and thus help in the progress of our nation THE significance of cleanliness and hygiene cannot be overlooked by any society. Every faith and civilization stresses the importance of cleanliness.
Historically, cleanliness has been considered one of the important factors by which to judge a civilization's or society's development.
Thanks.

It is rightly said that charity begins at home but how many of us follow it in true sense?Only saying will not do, words have to be converted to actions then only we can see a beautiful GREEN INDIA, CLEAN INDIA. We are so selfish. Yes, we are. We clean our homes but none of us pay any heed to clean our schools, our roads, our locality. Do we? If a small bit of paper is thrown on ground we do not take pains to throw it in its proper place but we comment on the person who had thrown.
I am not saying that we should leave all our important works and start cleaning the roads but we can keep a dustbin, a notice board and some rewards for the people who will actually follow the rules. No doubt that in this work all people will create an interest and place some efforts for the sake of getting a gift.
Let's start it from today and then see a change after a month.
Try it because there is no tax to this task.
THANK YOU!

Hello friends, this is Shivangi.
Well yes cleanliness is the fundamental responsibility of every Indian citizen.
Many people are just concerned about their rights and forget about their duties. Recent swatch Bharat mission was an attempt to make us all recall the value of cleanliness. Not only will cleanliness will help in keeping us healthy but it will help in beautifying our cities an country thus attracting even more tourist, eventually earning greater foreign exchange for our nation.
If we have a right to eat chips ice cream etc anywhere on the road, its our duty to dispose the wrappers and household waste properly thereafter and even educate each and every person in our surrounding to abide by it clean areas are always a delight to live at take a look at any foreign country be it USA, UK or Dubai. The laid back attitude of few Indians should now be changed! This is our responsibility.

Hi.
Its me Ehsaas.
In earth we live, the relationship of the human being with nature is based on accountability and friendship, not enmity or devastation. God has created the earth for the comfort of human beings, so an enabling environment for their advancement and excellence can be created.
If we don't clean our environment then it will affect us only. We can't just blame the government or the municipality for everything. If we observe and think it over, none of us gives due consideration to our surroundings. We arbitrarily build houses, wherever we like or we just throw around things we consume.
And though we realise that our kids are too young to take the garbage out, we assign them to do so. They are too short to put the garbage inside the container, so they just throw them around the containers. This is why garbage is everywhere.

I am in the favor of this topic that Cleanliness is a Fundamental Responsibility of an Indian Citizen.
Cleanliness is a basic requirement or basic need of our regular life. I feel so happy because our Prime-Minister takes the step on the cleanliness of India.
Somehow we are famous in the world for our dirtiness. The people who are from the other world they are laughing.
So it's a big big matter of our country that we all have to think about our country. Because it's our country and this country is like our home. So please everyone take a step on this issue and everyone try nodage other-one.
Just for the sometimes close your eyes and think that you are moving out off from your home and you can see that each and every place neat and clean then how will you feel.
I think everyone feels that everyone in the home of GOD.

Hi Everyone,
In the post everyone has posted their views about how cleanliness is a necessity and how essential it is for us the people of India, I really like the views the people have.
I would also like to suggest that government to make an App or a portal where people can post the pictures of the people who dirty their surrounding by throwing garbage and rubbish in not designated places, the people who are caught should be fined and the people who post them and give details like picture of the person or the car number of the people who throw garbage out of their car while driving etc should be rewarded with a certain percentage of money the guilty person was fined of and the rest goes to the people who work to keep our streets clean.
I hope it sounds like a good idea.

Hi! Participating in Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan doesn't mean just to take a broom and clean some dry waste and be happy that you cleaned India. No, it's not just that, there is more to it. Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan is a pledge we need to take.
Pledge for us : Recently our PM Mr. Narendra Modi launched "Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan" by himself sweeping streets in Delhi. I know most of us, including myself are not going to participate in sweeping of public places (Though I should and I will try to). But still, we can contribute and bring change and make India clean. So please let us join with me and commit.
I, as a responsible citizen of India commit that I will not throw any garbage/wastage on road & street. I will throw garbage only in dustbin or location provided for same.
