What I think we should first separate the crime person has done what comes under rarest rare and what is not according to me death punishment shouldn't be there for terrorist as the other group of terrorist feels that their colleague has went to heaven and he done good job for their militant group.
Instead government should keep the terrorist in condition where terrorist will ask for death sentence every day govt should torture them and why easy death to terrorist who has killed lots of people. And on the other side there should be death punishment for rape and heinous crimes like honor killing and paid killers.

In my opinion, capital punishment should be allowed. Presently even when capital punishment is still a valid punishment, the crime rate increasing day by day. And if it is abolished then it will be an encouragement to criminals. A rapist or a heinous criminal must be awarded the death penalty,
But in some cases, as we all know that our judicial system is not transparent. It depends upon the witnesses only and that may be false or fake. I also agree that the abolition of capital punishment will not help anyone.
So to conclude capital punishment should be awarded only after fully investigated the case.
Thank you.

Hello everyone.
So our topic of discussion is capital punishment should be banned or not.
Capital punishment is also known as the death penalty. It is a system of punishment which is given by our judiciary system to those criminals who commit serious crime like rape, murder and terrorism.
It should not ban b/z if it is banned then criminals have no fear in their mind and they do another crime.
It is helped in reducing crime rate as countries like China and South Korea have capital punishment so there is less number of crime rates in these countries.
So, it should be given for heinous crimes in our countries.

Hi everyone who is reading it.
I don't know why the government is following the strict law of killing people when they do any criminal offense. Even lord Jesus has said that "Don't hate the criminal, but hate the crime" still then why is this sort of cruelty to the criminals! If a criminal is killed then the person just dies but the thoughts don't die with him only! The quality of mercy is more important than the king's crown & scepter. A person with the quality of mercy is compared with the Divine power. So one must be given a chance to rectify his mistakes. That's all what I wanted to say. Thank you.

Capital punishment should be allowed as usual because there are many criminals, who commit crime without any fear because they assume that no one will punish them and they think they have political power that's why they can do what they want everyone we have to hear much news related to crime such as someone beaten a person to death because of money, a businessman has been murdered because he denied giving his money to criminal, criminal raped a juvenile child etc. If we hear this kind of news we expect they should be killed. So, why should judiciary or government not decide the capital punishment for them?

This whole death penalty thing makes no sense. It's like the government will kill the prisoner for killing a person.
How does this make the government any different from the killer. You are killing a person for killing a person. Then aren't you committing the same crime?what lesson are you giving to the prisoner that you'll die and even if he regrets it, what can he do? It's too late to change anything.
You should allow him to live under the supervision of people so if he does a crime again he would be imprisoned for life. Why don't we start by using words instead of guns. "death penalty is a murder".

Capital Punishment i.e. death penalty. I think that capital punishment must be allowed in the country as India has now become the habitat of criminals, evident from the ranking of India in regard of woman safety. People in India opine that committing a crime a thing of praise and are sure on the lineanacy of Indian system that they would either be free if they are supported by polical parties or to the most extreme they can get a jail term. But if the country has strict death punishment for the culprits then it will create a sense of fear amongst these unsocial person and might reduce the crime rate.

I believe capital punishment should not be banned. And here is the reason why I am saying this.
1. A terrorist or some psychopath kills hundreds of people. And victim who dies is definitely someone's father, mother, brother or son and someone must be waiting for them at home. If the criminal lives then the family members of the victim will never be at peace.
2. Not giving them the punishment they deserve will encourage others to be a criminal.
3. Government will have to spend billions of rupees for their safety just like in the case of kasab.
4. The jails in India will be populated.

Because being a democratic country like India, everyone have the right to live, therefore Capital Punishment is not fully applicable. But, if Capital Punishment is often applicable also, the criminal will kill the victim. For Eg. A rapist will kill a girl because he know if he let the girl live he will be sentence to death.
Abolition and promotion of Capital punishment is already a controversial in the first ground. How about leaving the decision to the victim or victim's family whether to let the person live or not, or harm the reproductive organ, if in the rape case?

I have gone through with all given comments but somewhere we are losing our Faith from the heart of the people, one sincere question to all participants who are here my dear young friends how long are we going to minimize our government mistakes?
If law and legislation system is there as you people have mentioned capital punishment shouldn't be banned then why government of India is not accounting the killers of rajiv Gandhi? Aren't those deserve for capital punishment? They are killers they killed our former prime minister they why capital punishment isn't for them?
