Yes co operatives is relevant in today's globalized environment because it helps poor people a lot, they are uneducated so they don't know about their rights and how to solve a problem like how to approach for a court etc, co operatives help in providing banking services in rural as well as urban areas which help rural people a in keeping their money safe providing interest and loans with small profit margin.

Co-operatives and globalization are two extreme phenomena. Cooperatives are socialism phenomena while globalization is Capitalism phenomena. India is neither absolute socialist country nor absolute capitalist country. It is mux of the two. Today, India requires a balance if two. In today's globalizes environment, we require cooperatives too because India has a very significant poor population that need support from government to take themselves out of poverty. Hence to support them we require Co-operatives.

Hello Friends,
In my opinion, this is very usefully by cooperatives in the global the poor and marginal farmers give the benefits of this time get the money in the cooperative sides only.
Farmers product coming to the market rate is up and down so, farmers product come to market rate at very low in the market, after that trader sometimes stock the product in go-downs market rate is high. So, people are like getting the high profits ultimately formation farmers cooperatives and get the high profits more and more.

Globalisation, as it is meant officially, seeks to promote competition in the economic playground, amongst the so-called 'global players' i.e. the businessmen across the frontiers of the nation-states. Co-operation against such a backdrop appears to be an outdated, obsolete and ludicrous concept. The cases, as appear obvious in such a regime, against co-operation are:.
I) Co-operation is a congregation of "too many", unnecessary in the environment congenial for competition. This rears and promotes inefficiency and wastage.
Ii) The democracy co-operation is said to promote and sustain is a myth.
Iii) The "overcrowding" does not necessarily ensure expertness in management.
Iv) Despite bulge in number of membership, provision for capital may fall short of sufficiency.
V) Lack of state of the art technology is often experienced.
Vi) Inefficiency brings about lower profitability leading to poor incentives causing lower motivation, insufficient capital formation and poor performance.
Vii) Thus, incapability in survival is quite common.
Considering the above negative traits of the co-operatives, it may sound natural as well as rational to not opt for them. However, co-operatives do have certain scores of merit that deserve consideration".
A) In the face of fierce competition in the age of globalisation, co-operatives provided a soothing effect in a society by creating an atmosphere where man can help a fellow man, unlikely to be so done by the business as usual.
B) Capital, technology etc. Cannot be any constraints in making co-operation a success. On the contrary, co-operatives do provide the background for successful mobilisation of resources for better management of economic activities.
C) If proper safeguards can be ensured, democracy can really embrace such an institution.
D) Co-operation upholds certain values, it underlines the need for a living based on mutual help and trust.
E) Co-operation can lift the poorer sections of the society above the poverty line.
F) Examples abound where co-operation has been proved a huge success.
So it would be premature to conclude that co-operatives are, in the age of globalisation have become irrelevant.

The year 2012 is the year of co-operatives. Co-operatives are a great way for people to achieve their common goal- be it profit or social service. Co-operatives give an opportunity to the common man to explore her/his own potential to make better her/his own condition or the condition of his fellow citizens. Even in today's globalized world we have co-operatives successfully conducting banking and insurance business, providing utility services at subsidized rates, and taking up social activities in both-the rural and the urban areas.
The only issues to be taken care of are that of the laws governing them and the opportunities of growth provided to them. Barring these two issues, all is well in this sector.

Hi Friends, According to me co-operatives are still relevant in today's global environment. India is a developing country. Their are two types of co-operatives exist in our country. First those who work for their their economic growth and second those who work only for their people welfare and child labor etc. NGO's come under second one. India more than 35% people are living under the poverty line they don't know their rights even. In this case the co-operatives who are working only for people welfare help them. Now the public and private sectors are working together for the company growth that is really essential for our country.

I too think that co-operatives are essential in today's global India. As far as they serve the common interest of the people around it they are good. But they should be well regulated in order to prevent any type of irregularities. The co-operatives should function not only for the economic concerns but also for social, environmental as well as for education system also.

According to me, globalization makes it essential to have co-operatives around us. India being a developing country and majority of the population being uneducated and poor its considered that well educated and rich powerful people are going to take advantage of them. We people are also not aware of our own human rights.
Co-operatives according to me are very important. As these are people with the same motive and aim striving and working hard to achieve them in the same direction. It also works out to be a moral support. Discussions and debates make them aware of the recent happenings. Co-operatives help us fight against corruption, monopoly and to rule out the dominating and bullying people from the society.
