Are beauty contests degrading womanhood?

I completely agree with this topic and the fact I am saying this is because firstly what beauty is being projected by the media and mostly the people around us. Is fair looking, tall, good figure etc. So even if a woman is happy with having a particular type of her body which is not found good conventionally but over the time these beauty standards make her feel that way you have something less. And then comes the beauty pageants I completely agree that it's more than a beauty you also have to be confident and smart. But moreover, there is a lot of showcasing of being slim, beautiful. So, it really does affect woman self-esteem and moreover to question her womanhood.

I think it's not about not conducting beauty contest but there should be more emphasis on being intellectual and other things than just beauty.

In my opinion beauty contest is sort of like a game you can say in which from different nations or states girls are participating. Actually a girl gets a exposure from this very events vize in movies and acting fields and in fact they earn fame in modeling itself through this. If a normal life living girl gets a job or you can say earn a fame (talking in basic language). Its not a bad thing.

In fact they learn how to speak how to react and there mentality and way of living goes up on to next level. I know after being getting famous they get into various controversies. But that's a fault of media not there's.

But one of the common and very minute disadvantage that they start consuming beauty drugs which is harmful for them in future. But only in some cases I am talking about. So its not that beauty contest are degrading woman's hood rather it is giving chance to women to come up and show there talents.

I'm Sharath. Womanhood is a very cheap activity to earn money. In my view, they are the things which have been pulling the young stars towards it.

Please, don't conduct any beauty contests. Because it is a type of racial discrimination in the view of law.

Firstly, beauty contest is just not how beautiful you are. We just know what we see but its more than just beauty they have to work in the social center and even have to pass many other tests.

According to me, it can effect someone self-esteem but doesn't degrade womanhood.

What defines womanhood according to me how you present yourself or how easily you manage things or handle your situations that something that actually degrades or upgrade womanhood.

In my point of view, beauty contest is the best platform where a women can improve their talent. It gives all the women more confidence to do something better for the country.

All the women take insperation from then and they try to do better in their life.

The famous beauty contest in the world is Miss universe and Miss world.

From the whole world many girls and women take part in these compitation. And show their talent.

This type we can say the beauty contest s degrading womanhood. And improve the situation of women in whole world. Thank you.

In the words of Plato, "Truth is beauty, beauty is truth". Beauty in its various forms, including a woman's beauty, is being appreciated right from Plato's time though the ways of expressing and appreciating beauty have changed!
So i Think Beauty pageant is one of the finest medium to show your talency.
I strongly motivates people when they want to organize or participate on such a pageant.

I think beauty contest are really degrading women and our culture. In India we worship god in the form of goddess like sita, radha, gori, durga and saraswati etc. The people in the west are more capable than us I accept, they have good skilled manpower, better technology, we should follow them in that, we should borrow their technology and skill but not their culture. And beauty contest is a western concept.

Character of an woman is her real beauty. By the words of swami vivekananda " personality is what a man looks but character is what a man is ". Some of my friends argue that, why do we see the bad in the beauty contests, as far as the bad is concerned we the human beings are civilized, we live in society not in jungle, protecting our shame by wearing dress is a thing that differentiate us from animals.

The reputed beauty contests not only judge the physical beauty but also the mental beauty of the contestants. The same contests has given Indian cinema personalities like Nafisa Ali, Zeenat Aman, Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen and many more who not only contributed to our cinema but are socially active also. They are role models of many girls. So saying that beauty contests are degrading womanhood is totally wrong.

According to my opinion, a beauty contest is a platform where woman all over the world compete for the pregnant.

The beauty contest is providing the woman a good platform to show their talent and skills.

It also helps to realize their confidence.

Starting with an important term "womanhood". What is womanhood? Womanhood is a broad term. Personally, I believe that womanhood is a term related to a woman's choice. To one it may be to live happily with their family. But for others, it may be to work hard to earn money and respect. Both of them are correct at their place.

Only there chooses are different. But they both choose what they wanted to do. I believe that womanhood is a women's choice and it is for her to decide. And to go or work in the beauty and fashion industry is also her choose. So, basically fashion industries are a place or platform for young ladies where they can showcase their beauty and talent.

It is the platform where she can make her own identity, also it gives a celebrity status. It helps them realize their inner self and confidence. Which helps her to be self-dependent in these societies. In this Industry, someone is not judged only by physical beauty but also by the mental beauty of the contestants. This place gives a chance to find hidden quality in her or to improve her quality. It also shows social awareness, attitude towards the society. Concluding that I believe that "beauty and fashion industries are not degrading womanhood". It's there to choose to work there.
