I appreciate your thoughts. However, I think different for me beauty contest is something which not only degrading womanhood also our culture. Yes there are some parameter on which you judge a woman, but those criteria or parametere only applicable when a woman has outer beauty which she can show off. And Why we are talking about the other thing, we have an example of Yukta mukhi who spoke in Gujraati at the international level. Why she did that when you are saying that in the contest like this only good looking and groomed people participate. Where is she now days and how many of us know her. Beauty should be judge for the good work not for the beautiful thighs and backless blouse.

Beauty contests are actually considered as platforms to enter the glamours world of film industry. The focus of the pageant is to select a contestant who is considered as "beauty with brains".The contestants have to show off their dresses and carry themselves gracefully. Some people donot like it,there view is limited to what they see.Its is not limited to physical beauty. The winner of the contest has many responsibilities on her shoulder. She has to spend a year in social welfare. The beauty pageants is involved in welfare of women and children of the world.I totally disagree that the Beauty contest degrade womanhood. We need to change our view regarding these pageants.

Hello friends.

I think it's not true or not right to say that beauty contest degrading the womanhood its just a platform where a woman can show her talent beauty contests are not for just to see the physical beauty of a woman its also about her inner beauty. Beauty contest helps a woman to grow, develop and make their own identity in this world many has proved this too like Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Manushi Cillar and many more and about culture then I don't think that these woman have forgotten our culture. This its all about people mind set.

That how they see woman. I think woman should participate in international beauty contest and make India proud.

In my opinion, it is the platform for the women to explore to grab a good quality life by expressing their beauty in various dimensions.

The dimensions women could show in this contest is.

1. Their natural beauty, which may provide them an opportunity to work in modelling, fashion industry. They can take this as their steps to their career in glamor industry.

2. Their spontaneity and knowledge will also be tested so. They can also try their luck in anchoring which adds some value to their name.

3. This also brings the best in the participants to tackle the hardships.

But all this will have a value when women respect and keep in their mind about tradition.

Hello and thank you for the chance to comment on this topic.

My opinion is a beauty contest by definition involves an element of competition between the women who take part. And since the women are to be compared and evaluated by the judges, it's important that all aspects of their beauty are taken into consideration.

In relation to physical beauty, therefore, it's natural for the women to parade in swimsuits (either one-piece or bikini). Only in this way can the judges evaluate each contestant. For this, to be done fairly and fully, each contestant should present herself facing the judges, sideways to them and with her back turned.

Thank you.

Beauty contest is like a sport events as swimming. It is competition for overall best from every corner. It is not matter of degrading womanhood. In universe everyone wants freedom of life. If women feel confident to express themselves, it is better for society development. It is also shows that women are equal to man.

They can show there different abilities & grasp the opportunities to do acting, advertising, job, business, publicity etc. It encourages other narrow minded women; they are not merely for homemaking they can make the world by their brain & beauty. We need to change our mindset, beauty contest never degrading womanhood.

As we know that everything has its merits and demerits.

Likewise, beauty contest also has merits and demerits.

In my opinion, beauty contest gives a platform where women can show their talent and skills.

Beauty contests show that women are not only housewife and mother but also they can show their potential.

These contests promote equality.

But there are some disadvantages like.

In these contests, women are considered saleable.

These contests spread vulgarity etc.

So overall if we see; We are living in modern times. And people should give up their conservative faith and encourage women to join these types of contests.

According to me beauty contest is not degrading the women good. This is a platform for women to prove herself. But by only considering beauty we should not judge a women. Beauty + brain + character + attitude should be the measures of beauty contest. As human is a social animal first. So empowering women should be the main motto of these beauty contest.

Somewhere by only considering beauty a women is judge. As external beauty is god gifted. We can't change it. So by considering beauty we are demoralizing women who have not external beauty. So beauty contest should be in such a way that women of our society get motivated.

No, beauty contests do not degrade womanhood in any ways. In stead it flourishes the feminine beauty and intellect. Beauty contest examines not only the womanly beauty and glamour, but also it trials their confidence, presence of mind, knowledge. In fact when the whole world is thoroughly busy in the competition to show the best in them, women like Mary Kom, P. V. Sindhu, Sania Mirza, Taslima Nasrin and most importantly Malala should be an inspiration to other women to show the womanpower. Because such beauty pageants only upgrade womanly status, without hurting the womanly image in front of the world in any ways.

Well I think beauty contests offer opportunities for a layman to participate in and also open different avenues. Many smart girls who want to be an actress often don't get chance. These contests also help industries to find out the talented ones and nature the talent. Its really up to ones mind that how to interpret things.

Beauty contests also don't demand of physical exposure, one can show her beauty by traditional dresses, make-ups, different tasks performed by them.

Woman is considered sacred in hinduism and respected more or less in all religions so its men's duty to uplift them without bringing obstacles.
