Are beauty contests degrading womanhood?

Yes. Beauty contests provide a platform for women to express their talent but it should be expressed in a good way, too much of exposing should be avoided. Participants should be aware of the fact that they are presenting themselves in front of large number of people.

My opinion regarding these topic is that it is not degrading for women to participate in beauty contest it is platform to prove herself with the help of these contest the no of women get the employment it is an 21st century of equality some people thought is that the women should work in home only, we should not decide the women on the basis of her beauty we should also check her brain, communication with other and behaviour of her.

Some people are thinks that the our culture is to wear saree not wear small dresses to expose our body but there are various games are there where girls are required to wear small dresses like swimming, tennis etc then weather we should banned those games no we shouldn't. Disadvantage is that some of women takes the beauty medicine or drug these should not happen.

Not at all because it's a good platform to show their talent. The main thing is that we should not forget our culture because our country is known for their culture.

I my opinion beauty contests are degrading womanhood but also our society and our culture.as we all know that we are Indian and it is not our culture.India get name and fame in all over the world because of culture,religion and tradition not for beauty contests.

I feel that Beauty Contests are not degrading Womanhood as it give chances to a woman to prove herself in a well defined manner.

They are not only judged according to her color and figure but also on her communication skills, her way of thinking(questions asked by the judge) and her desire of working in the Industry.

Woman can handle anything in a PERFECT manner Perfectly.

Beauty contests are exploring the talents of the women, but at same time they are largely influenced by the western culture. According to me, I think such contests are necessary to explore talents of females, but at a same time we should take care of our culture and focus should be given on internal talents. And firstly we need to change our thinking towards it so that value should be given to the other qualities and stress on beauty should be reduced.

Beauty contest is like a sport events as swimming. It is competition for overall best from every corner. It is not matter of degrading womanhood. In universe everyone wants freedom of life. If women feel confident to express themselves, it is better for society development. It is also shows that women are equal to man.

They can show there different abilities & grasp the opportunities to do acting, advertising, job, business, publicity etc. It encourages other narrow minded women; they are not merely for homemaking they can make the world by their brain & beauty. We need to change our mindset, beauty contest never degrading womanhood.

I don't think that beauty contest is degrading womanhood. Fist of all what actually a womanhood mean? Womanhood is the quality traditionally possessed by women.

Before going to the traditional qualities of women I would like to say about a beauty contest. So beauty contest is a place or platform for young ladies to show their beauty and talent. And the one who is more beautiful and more intelligent is the winner or we can say beauty with brain wins. This contest consist of various round including swimming suit round, which is the most in question round and some says the most vulgar round. And in some contest is not even included but at the national level, it is there. Just think, the women who are participating in swimming suit round they are well acquainted with swimming or swimming suit and they are not swimming in private. So how girl wearing a swimming suit in a contest will degrade womanhood but not swimming in public.

I believe that what women do with themselves are there chose if you don't like the idea of women prancing around in mini dresses then don't watch them, but in there eyes that's what the think is best for them and we should all really be supportive because you don't judge a book by is cover so don't judge a person by there dress.

Since they shows more vulgharity in their dresses it degrades the whole womenenhood. They are moving out of all the traditional things. They used to diet to have zero fat. They used to put lot of make ups.
