Thomas Edison invented his tin-foil phonograph, Edison's phonograph was followed by Alexander Graham Bell's graphophone. In 1887 Emile Berliner invented the gramophone and records.

Yes gramophone was invented by Edison actually.

Edison was the inventor of Gramophone. We can find that in his invented lists also.

Emile Berliner just patented it. But actual invention was done by great Edison sir.

Im still confused, some sites refer as Thomas Alva Edison and some as Emile Berliner.

Jayachandra is right and it is emile berliner who invented the gramophone...edison invented phonograph which was used for recording and playing sounds using rotating cylindrical disks....and yeah edison was very curious for every statement.

He spoke the following sentence while testing his phonograph for 1st time:
'mary had a little lamb, its fleece was white as snow...and everywhere that mary went, the lamb was sure to go.':)
