Sovereignty in our country lies in different areas for different aspects, legislative sovereignty leis in parliament; if we want an over all answer for the question of 'sovereign' my answer is the people of India (as per the article 1 of our constitution).

For me this question in itself is incomplete.

Sovereign means government Autonomous rule. But in India our parliament is not autonomous our dictator but the common people are decision making all powers are vested in their hands and thus govt has to work within limits prescribed by our constitution which is meant for the people of India.

First of all, what does sovereign mean?

It means it has supreme power means none power is above parliament, but it does not happen with our Indian parliament.

It has to work within some limit and limits are given in three option So, D is the right answer.

Sovereignty is the freedom to govern oneself within a territory and to be free from any external control. All INDIANS are free to govern themselves and to make laws. There should be no external interference of any kind in the functioning of the government.

Sovereign means supreme power. When a bill or any decision may pass through parliament but if supreme court think it's against law, they can stop it which is under provision. There was some boundary for parliament extent.

1st and 2nd options are wrong because parliament can make laws in state list at emergency provisions and parliament can amend the constitution with out damaging the basic structure of constitution.

Option C is correct because.

1. Parliament can make laws in concurrent list subjects and state list subjects (under few conditions).

2. Parliament can amend constitution article 386.

Like if any law or act is passed in parliament then the supreme court has the power to declare them as null and void if they're against the constitution eg: Fundamental rights.

The correct (d). Actually, It is asking about the Parliament power. Whether it has the absolute power or not.

Here, sovereign stand the absolute power of the Parliament.

Sovereign means ultimate power or supreme power to do anythings. There is no obstacles to do somethings. According to me, all 1st 3 answers are correct.
