Not sure of the explanation, however, dwellings in English means housing and excavated is built or dug.

Yes. It means at that time the people were divided into two classes viz. Higher class and lower class living in different places or houses that were specified for them.

A huge swimming pool type structure was found in Mohenjo-Daro, and many other excavation shows Mohenjo-Daro was more developed than Harappa!

Very interesting ancient history this is but still mysterious because of uncoded Script !
