Tropic of Cancer lies at 23.50 degree North. Agartala, the capital of Tripura and Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, lies to just north of Tropic of cancer which has a latitude of - 23.51 N and 23.36 N respectively.

Following are the latitudes of other cities/ states through which the tropic of cancer passes in India.

Gandhinagar (Gujrat) - 23.10 N.
Jaipur (Rajasthan) - 26.55 N.
Bhopal (M.P) - 23.16 N.
Raipur (Chattisgarh) - 21.16 N.
Ranchi (Jharkhand) - 23.11 N.
Kolkata (W.B) - 22.34 N.
Agartala (Tripura) - 23.51 N.
Aizawl (Mizoram) - 23.36 N.

Tropic of Capricorn is an imaginary line of latitude going around the earth approximately 23.5 degree south of the equator. It is the southernmost part on earth where the sun's rays can be directly overhead at local noon. It is also one of the five major circles of latitude dividing the earth [the others are the tropic of cancer in the northern hemisphere, the equator, the arctic circle and the antarctic circle.

Tropic of cancer -> 23*0.5 degree North, Pass-through 8 Indian states. Those are Gujarat, Rajasthan, MP, Chattisgarh, Odisha, WB, Tripura, and Mizoram.

Kanyakumari is in the south of the tropic of cancer as well as north of the equator.

Southern most point of India including islands is Indira point. 6*45 Degree North of equator.

Since The Tropic of cancer passes almost in the middle of India, so definitely KanyaKumari is to the south of Tropic of cancer. But as we know the Equator does pass through India. So these two statements prove that KanyaKumari is North to the equator and South to the Tropic of Cancer.

Equator passes through totally 12 countries in the world namely:

5. Republic of Congo.
6. Democratic republic of Congo.

Latitude of kanyakumari is 8 degree north and tropic of cancer is 23.5 degree (approx) north to equator. So kanyakumari is in between equator and tropic of cancer. So it will north to equator and south to tropic of cancer.

Tropic of cancer going middle of India and equator is going through far away for India so equator below of kanyakumari therefore definitely kanyakumari is above the equator and below the Tropic of Capricorn.

Kanyakumari when considered to India it is southern tip but seeing globe it is north of equator so accordingly it is northern side of equator or north of equator.
