How come it's 35%?, I think it should be 65%. Because most of the land is acquired by villagers and the they live with the help of irrigation land.

Govt must take measure step to increase irrigation land. Such as all the rivers are connected to each other via canal, artificial raining.

Though there is enough land but its true irrigated land is 35%. Rest is covered by barren land, desert soil, mountains.

Indian agriculture is mostly dependent on rainfall here are less irrigation facilities available thus it may be 35%.

People may cover any percent of area but how much is irrigated by any means is the question. It's right approx 35%.

And according to the survey 257.53 Thousand sq miles (667 Thousand sq kms) (2012) is irrigated land in India.
