Yes Kolar is only major place in India where gold is found. Some gold particles are also found in sand of some rivers.

Karnataka 's kolar gold field is the only gold producing gold mine in india, this region also has iron ore mines in the bellary and anathapur districts of karnataka and andhra respectively.
