Obviously, Allahabad bank is the oldest one but it was a joint-stock. First wholly Indian bank where all employee were Indians was PNB.

First purely Indian bank was Punjab National bank Later Imperial bank (1921) by amalgamating the Presidency banks named as Bank of Calcutta (1806) , Bank of Bombay (1840) , Bank of Madras (1843).
