Our National anthem Jana Gana Mana was sung by Ravindranath Tagore to please British queen! Vande Mataram should have been our National anthem! but we Indians are unlucky! Because at that time congress were ruling India and they knew that Muslims will never accept Vande Mataram as national anthem.

So to keep both Muslims and British government happy they rejected Vande Matam and kept Jana Gana Mana as our National anthem! dear friends please read our history and correct misunderstanding about Ravindranath Tagore! In rewards Britishers gave him Nobel Prize!

Jana Gana Mana is the national anthem of India. It was originally composed as Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata in Bengali by poet Rabindranath Tagore. Later, it was written in sadhu Bengali or tatsama Bengali which is heavily sanskiritised. The first stanza was taken by constitute assembly.
