PEARL HARBOUR incident lead to HIROSHIMA and NAGASAKI mahakanda in JAPAN gave up in WW2.

Anyways coming back to chemistry from history we have.

Following chief constituents of pearl:

1. Calcium Carbonate.

2. Calcium Oxide.

3. Ammonium Sulphate.

4. Ammonium Chloride.

5. Magnesium Carbonate.

6. Sodium Chloride.

7. Aragonite.

8. Conchiolin.

As per question and the answer option combination the "main components" So answer should be CALCIUM CARBONATE & MAGNESIUM CARBONATE.

A pearl is a hard object produced within the soft tissue (specifically the mantle) of a living shelled mollusk. Just like the shell of a mollusk, a pearl is made up of calcium carbonate in minute crystalline form, which has been deposited in concentric layers.

Pearl is formed by the combination of aragonite 85%+alubiminaid protein (conchiolin)12%+water 3%.

So please correct the answer which is option C and not B.

Pearls are not a single compound, but a mixture of calcium carbonate with a protein called conchiolin, which acts as a sort of "binder".

The main constituents are not having a magnitude that's towards occupied by calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate.

I am not understanding what is conchiolin. Please, can anyone tell me?

Natural pearls are nearly 100% calcium carbonate and conchiolin.
