Hydrogen is the only element whose isotopes have a different particular name:

* Protium.
* Deuterium.
* Tritium.

It's Eritium not Yttrium.

Because yttrium is a element.

Because hydrogen have three isotopes.

1. Tritium.
2. Protium.
3. Deuterium.

What is isotopes?

Hydrogen has three naturally occurring isotopes.

Other, highly unstable nuclei (4H to 7H) have been synthesized in the laboratory but not observed in nature.

The 03 isotopes are:

1. Protium.
2. Tritium.
3. Deuterium.

Tritium being the most stable from among the 03.

Small amts of tritium occur naturally becoz of interaction of cosmic rays with atmospheric gases.

Tritium has also been released during nuclear weapons tests.

Ytterium is a transition element with Z=39. Other are 3 isotopes of Hydrogen.

1. Protium (1H1).
2. Deuterium (1H2).
3. Tritium (1H3).

The Isotopes of Hydrogen:

It is often useful to study the simplest system. Therefore, hydrogen, the simplest nucleus, has been studied extensively. The isotopes of hydrogen show many of the effects found in more complicated nuclei. (The word isotope refers to a nucleus with the same Z but different A).

There are three isotopes of the element hydrogen: hydrogen, deuterium, and tritium. How do we distinguish between them? They each have one single proton (Z = 1) , but differ in the number of their neutrons. Hydrogen has no neutron, deuterium has one, and tritium has two neutrons.

The isotopes of hydrogen have, respectively, mass numbers of one, two, and three. Their nuclear symbols are therefore 1H, 2H, and 3H. The atoms of these isotopes have one electron to balance the charge of the one proton. Since chemistry depends on the interactions of protons with electrons, the chemical properties of the isotopes are nearly the same.

Yttrium is a grayish-white metal generally included among the rare earth elements.
