Graphite because it is allotropes of carbon, black and soft and NON-METAL and both have same features and slippery in nature so this way GRAPHITE is use for making pencil.

Graphite is a metal. It is black in colour and very smooth for use. So it is use in pencils.

Yes. Graphite is a form of carbon. It forms a network covalent solid, which causes layers of C atoms on top of each other. This allows the layers of carbon to slip over each other and gives pencils the ability to write. Hence graphite is used in pencils.
