Actually, Molarity(M) is defined as the no of moles of solute per 1 lit solvent and the Molality(m) is defined as the no of moles of solute per 1 kg solvent.

1kg is equivalent to 1litre. 1kg means 1000g and 1litre also the same mean 1000g but kg use for solid things and litre for liquid things.
