I will like being this online chemistry. But I don't understand the meaning of calcination, those two definition are confusing.

Fused state means molten state and calcination means heating of carbonate ore like caco3 in absence of air.

Does smelting have any bacterial means?

Metallurgy is a process of extraction metal from ore. The metal is obtained fusion state in smelting because during the process of smelting the metal is mixed with slag & a flux. The melting is over high so the metal is obtained fusion state.
