Lustre means shining. And it was said that metal do shine when they have been polish with oil and a reason was brought that they shine because thier electron do jump or thier electron is unstable. So, I want to ask why are our shoes shining after when they have be polish?

High polishing produces it because of smoothness increase reflectivity increase.

Electrons when they are in the "excited state" produces light.

Luster is the ability of a metal to reflect light due to the unstable electrons.

I thought luster means shiny. So how does it have anything to do with electrons?

WT mean luster.

Luster means shining the metal. So metal contains free electrons it is possible.
