The photosynthesis takes place on leaves because on leaves there is a pigment used for photosynthesis called chlorophyll pigment.
And also, Photosynthesis can be defined as the process by which green plants make their own nutrients through sunlight energy, therefore it requires the leaves and chloroplast an organelle that contains chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments responsible for trapping sunlight energy.

Photosynthesis is seen in Green Pigments. And as you Know leaf contains green pigments that is chlorophyll.

Photosynthesis that occur in the leaf because the leaf present in Chlorophyll and Chlorophyll is essential for the photosynthesis. So Photosynthesis that take place in leaf of the plant.
