Is it that lack of vitamin A cause night blindness or vitaminA itself cause night blindness?

|The night blindness is caused due to the deficiency of Vitamin A. The deficiency of vitamin A causes a nutritional deficiency disease which is called as "NYCTOLOPIA", which is responsible for the night blindess.|
