Myopia, better known as nearsightedness, is a condition in which a person can see objects more clearly if they are closer to them. As such, these individuals have problems seeing objects further away.

Illness and injury affect human physiology. Studying pathology helped doctors and clinical scientists evaluate the biology and physiology of healthy humans and unhealthy humans in research.

Injuries and illnesses can be sustained from environmental causes, eg; A sports injury, a communicable infection spread at a hospital or doctor's office. Biological or genetic causes of diseases are based on heritability.

Sensory deficits can alter functioning. Persons who cannot see or hear are compromised in their physical capacity to evaluate changes in the environment.

Myopia is a disorder of the eye. It is the result of the eye growing too long anterior-posterior, so light comes to a focus in front of the retina as opposed to behind it. It is the most common vision problem.

The focal length of the eyes of some people are very small. As a result, the image of the object is not formed at the retina but at a point in front of the retina. In other words, these people can't see far away objects clearly. This defect of vision is called myopia.
