The Punjab province of Pakistan has a hill system Salt Range. The Salt Range is a hill system in the Punjab province of Pakistan, deriving its name from its extensive deposits of rock salt. The range extends along the south of the Pothohar Plateau and the North of the Jhelum River.
And in the Indian state of Punjab, Coal is the major natural resource found.
Here, the Question speaks of 'Punjab'.
So both can be correct.

There are rock salt mines in that area. They have formed some 800 million years ago. As you all know, the Indian subcontinent drifted towards South Asia. The sea became shallow, and the water started evaporating, leaving this salt behind. It was first discovered when Alexander the Great came to India.
