I believe Iron is the correct answer. Salt is for Gujarat I guess.

Salt is the major mineral found in Punjab. The Salt Range is a hill system in the Punjab province of Pakistan, deriving its name from its extensive deposits of rock salt. The range extends along the south of the Pothohar Plateau and the North of the Jhelum River.

Khewra Salt mine, one of the largest mine which is located in Punjab region.

So, for this reason, the answer is salt.

Salt mines are in Himachal not in Punjab. Himachal was part of Punjab till 1948.

There are rock salt mines in that area. They have formed some 800 million years ago. As you all know, the Indian subcontinent drifted towards South Asia. The sea became shallow, and the water started evaporating, leaving this salt behind. It was first discovered when Alexander the Great came to India.
