1,2,3 valance is - conductor.

4 is - semiconductor.

5,6,7 is - insulator.

8 valance is - noble gas .

So valence electrons are in semiconductor is 4.

The resistance of semiconductor lies between conductors and insulators and it is a negative temperature coefficient material i.e. when temperature increases the resistivity of the material decreases.

Some semiconductor may be develop by taking element of 3A & 5A like GaAs.

Eletron structure of si= 2,8,4.
Eletron structure of ge=2,8,18,4.

Atomic number of silicon=14
Atomic number of Germanium=32
Electonic Structure of si=2,8,4
Electonic Structure of Ge=2,8,18,4
so valence electron of semi conductors are 4(four)

Valence electrons are the electrons of an atom that can participate in the formation of chemical bonds with other atoms.

Hey guys, please tell me what is mean of valence electrons ?

Semiconductors are insulators. When we add impurities or increase the temperature, it will become conductor. Thats why it s semiconductor.
