A Circuit used after the filter is a regulator circuit which not only makes the dc voltage smooth and also ripple free and but it also keep the dc voltage output constant through input dc voltage vary under certain condition.

Regulator basically used for converting purpose for smoothing the wave we used filter because filter is using for the removing unwanted signal or for smoothing purpose.

The output of rectifier contains some pulsating pulses which is smoothen or converted to pure dc form by a smoothing reactor which is nothing but regulator.

Filter is used for filtering purpose. Even after filtering that the signal contains some distortion. So regulators is used to make a DC output to smooth.

The regulator provides the Smooth DC voltage which is fixed.
The output of bridge rectifier is pulsating DC signal.
The capacitor is used as a filter to remove the ripple factor.

According to my knowledge its B- filter because as it removes DC ripples which were already converted from ac to dc at diode.

No I strongly said Regulator because after filtering it have some ac.
