Silicon diode cut-in voltage will be 0.7v and it is said to be knee voltage when it starts operating.

IF P type semiconductor is connected to the positive terminal of the battery and N type semiconductor is connected to the negative terminal of the battery then this condition is said to be in forward bias condition.
