Not clear answer is option B right? 0.5*100*100^-3*3^2 = 0.45J.

Guys, it's a couple of coils connected in series... that means a couple of resistors with a couple of inductors.
So the energy stored in the magnetic field must be less than 0.45 joules.
So the answer is 0.225 joule.
So the energy stored in the magnetic field must be less than 0.45 joules.
So the answer is 0.225 joule.

2 similar coupled coil energy is 0.45j.
1 single coil energy 0.45j/2=0.225j.
So answer is B.
